Behaviour support
PCYC Queensland is prioritising behaviour support across all our OSHC services, and focusing on upskilling our staff to enable them to better support and respond to behaviours, appropriately model positive behaviours, and encourage children to self-regulate.
This year we appointed a Behaviour Support Officer to provide ongoing support and guidance to staff, and partner with positive behaviour support specialists to deliver positive supervision training, trauma training and specialist disorder training. The goal is to enable staff to support children identified with traumabased challenging behaviours, and additional needs such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).
