BUSINESS MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Pullman Good Food Co-op P.O. Box 622 Pullman, WA 99163 hello@pullmangoodfoodcoop.com pullmangoodfoodcoop.com The mission of the Pullman Good Food Co-op is to provide the community with equitable access to healthy, affordable, quality food with a priority to support local producers; with a focus on addressing food insecurity throughout the region. After more than five years of searching for the right location within Pullman, the PGFC Board of Directors and Location Committee have identified the perfect location and are finalizing the purchase of the old Unify Family Dental location on Bishop Blvd., with plans to open its doors by Summer 2025. The benefits of a food co-op to the Pullman community include: • It is owned and directed by member/owners • It will support the local Palouse economy. On average, co-ops locally source more than three times as much as conventional stores for their product lines • It will be an economic multiplier, with every $1,000 spent there generating $1,600 in local economic activity • It is estimated to create 9.3 jobs for every million dollars in annual sales • It will be nimble and resilient, able to step in directly with local growers in case of emergencies with less reliance on national supply chains In addition to our ongoing membership drive and fundraising activities coordinated by the PGFC Capital Campaign Committee, the PGFC Board has several current and upcoming vacancies. The Board welcomes anyone from the Pullman community with interest in joining during this pivotal time to email us at hello@pullmangoodfoodcoop.com
