Summer Reading starts June 6th!

Complete Activities to Win Prizes!

For this year’s Summer Reading Program you can read 10 books of your choice, complete 10 activities or a combination of both to equal 10. Postcards were sent in the mail for you to log your books and activities. You can also download a log from our website or pick one up at your library. After completing our summer reading program, participants ages 17 and under will receive an Oceans of Possibilites prize pack, as well as have their name entered into a drawing for more prizes. Adults who complete the summer reading program will receive a PCLS tote bag (while supplies last) and an entry into a drawing for prizes.

Design a bookmark and WIN! All winners will receive cash prizes!

As a grand prize winner you will have your artwork printed on our bookmarks and used throughout the library system for a year!

Download a template from our website or pick one up at your library. Submit your original artwork by July 31st.

Prizes will be awarded for: Elementary School (3rd grade and under) Middle School (grades 4-8) High School (grades 9-12) and Adult (ages 18 and up)

A multimedia presentation about the history of the Titanic.

Presented by Bill Willard

Bill Willard has been to the wreck site of the Titanic twice and been featured on Dateline NBC, BBC’s Inside Out and several Titanic shows on the Discovery Channel. He will share his knowledge about the wreck and all of the incredible history he has learned about the ship.

That’s right, our PCLS (PCLS=Pickles) outreach vehicle finally has a name! As the newest member of our team, Pickles travels throughout Pickens County to promote library services, programs, resources, and fun of course!

JOB FAIR June 20 • 9am-12pm The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce will host a Job Fair at the AnMed Health Cannon Pavilion, 409 E. Cedar Rock Street, Pickens. Stop by, meet Pickles and pick up program info and swag from the library.

Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County will be holding their 2nd Annual Bounce Back at the J.B. “Red” Owens Recreation Complex in Easley. This event celebrates the fact that the community as a whole is bouncing back from the pandemic and people in recovery are bouncing back from substance use disorder.
