Dear PCJH Family,

Ephesians 3:20-21 reminds us: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

This verse encapsulates our journey this past year as a church family. God’s abundant provision, His transformative power, and the glory that shines through His work in and through us have been evident in countless ways.

This year, we witnessed remarkable spiritual growth throughout our congregation. The adult ministry class offerings, the weekly Bible studies, the fellowship gatherings, the Encounter storytelling events, and many other opportunities provided new ways for learning and spiritual formation.

Our commitment to mission and outreach has taken us to incredible places, both near and far. We celebrated a successful mission trip to Guatemala, and walked in the footsteps of Paul on a pilgrimage to Greece and Rome. Locally, we successfully hosted the “Big Five Drive,” Rummage Sale, and Youth Mission Week, all aimed at serving our Jackson community. We launched the Home+Sted Campaign, seeking to provide much-needed employee housing. We celebrated the hiring of Tiffany Tate as our Children’s Ministry Coordinator which has already begun to breathe new life into our ministry for young children. We initiated a Vision Team tasked with solidifying our mission and vision, ensuring we remain faithful to God’s calling and leading for our church. Our youth ministry continues to grow dynamically, offering meaningful opportunities for students to connect, serve, and deepen their walk with Christ.

We honor Ben’s commitment to spiritual growth through his covenant group, a space for accountability and encouragement. We celebrate Tammy’s dedication as she continues her Doctor of Ministry

studies. As we reflect on all that God has done, we give thanks for our Lord’s faithfulness. The work of the Vision Team, the growth of our ministries, and the ongoing impact of our mission efforts are signs of Christ’s power at work among us. May we continue to trust in the One who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. To God be the Glory. ~ Ben and Tammy

The worship team in 2024 dedicated themselves to bring the beauty of Christ into the sanctuaries through weekly worship. Hearing and reading the Word, singing, learning through meaningful sermons and praying together in one body, unifies us into one church, one faith, and one family. Together, we celebrated the sacraments of holy communion on the first Sunday of each month.

We also celebrated Palm Sunday, and several Easter services. We partnered with Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church to host Maundy Thursday and Good

Friday services. A Sunrise Easter Service attracted hundreds of people who rode the Gondola, courtesy of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. And A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP) collaboration leads worship at JHMR in winter and the National Parks in the summer. In 2024, many new talented musicians joined our team of faithful, committed singers and musicians. The PCJH choir also faithfully added a joyful chorus to many Sunday services. Our sound and light systems have been enhanced by added technical audio/visual support for

We shared the light of Christ with more than 800 participants in three Christmas Eve candlelight services in two locations—at PCJH at 5 pm with nearly 500 and the Teton Village service with over 250 attendees in the ballroom at Hotel Terra. A 9:30 pm contemplative service was added in the Chapel, attended by a cozy crowd. More than fifty poinsettias adorned the sanctuary this past Christmas. As always, thank you for your faithful participation in worship at PCJH.

Fellowship and fun were in ample supply this year, with both some favorite PCJH traditions continuing on and new activities planned and enjoyed. One new favorite event in 2024 was the PCJH Cookbook Club evenings in Hayden Hall, with participants cooking recipes from a selected cookbook and enjoying time shared around the dinner table. Led by Sue Unruh, participants tried their hands at cooking everything from Chinese food to Mediterranean food and much more. Another new event was a ‘Paint & Party’ night led by Jane Lavino, who guided around 30 folks in March in painting a favorite nature scene while enjoying food and drink. It was a fun night of learning and creativity! In April, we also took a trip up to the National Museum of Wildlife Art to participate in ‘First Sundays’ and enjoy the exhibits, a native musician showcase, and lunch together. Some returning favorites included six fun

weeks of the PCJH Cross Country Ski Group adventuring throughout Grand Teton National Park and beyond. The Swan family continue to find fun new skiing routes and gracious hosts to enjoy a bite and a drink after these fun

adventures in January and February. In August, we also had our biggest sales totals ever for the Rummage Sale with over $16K sold and dozens of hours worked throughout the week by our many joyful volunteers.

In July, we enjoyed a congregational-wide potluck after praying over the land for the Home+Sted employee housing project. Similarly, in September, we enjoyed a fun afternoon at the sportsthemed Ministry Fair with wings, games, and time learning about all of the ministries of PCJH. What joy to share life together!

/ Youth Ministry

This was an incredible year for our PCJH Youth Programming, True North! This changing and growing crew of middle and high school students consistently bring energy to the life of this church.

The past twelve months have included highlights such as partnering with Young Life, summer camp, local service week, confirmation, helping with Vacation Bible Adventure, gardening, sharing meals, and monthly youth events (movie night, the Grody Games, middle school lock-in/overnighter, making dinner for the Good Samaritan Mission, and more).

Weekly youth group breakfasts are what we look forward to every week. This is a time in which we hope that youth volunteers and students will be nourished through food, building community by fun, and learning about Jesus Christ in small group discussions.

AThis year we welcomed another Whitworth Fellow, Ashley Crawford , which was a highlight for True North youth ministry and students. The fall brought in another wonderful group of students and volunteers! We are very thankful for the group of adults who pour into middle and high school small groups each week and can’t wait to be a part of what is in store for the new year. Please join our staff and volunteer team in prayer for each of the students of PCJH, past, present, and future.

Being a collective of long-term locals and seasonal residents, this group of adults have gathered together nearly weekly for bible or book studies, dinners, or events in the community. The first half of the year was spent studying scripture passages on Sunday evenings and finding ways to stay warm during the winter months. In March, 15 members gathered for the annual Ascent Retreat in snowy Driggs.

During the summer, we welcomed some new members, including our amazing Whitworth Fellow, Ashley! Camping, hiking, meals, and book study were what binded the group together in the midst of all the summer travel and business.

The Ascent Ministry team planned and hosted another “Encounter” Storytelling event during the fall which featured stories from two Ascent participants, Ally and Grant.

Adult Ministries strives to offer enticing programming to encourage our congregation to experience their lives being transformed in Jesus Christ. We seek to provide opportunities for people to develop a deeper understanding of God and His Word and apply that understanding to daily life. We were blessed in 2024 to have so many willing and knowledgeable facilitators!

DEACON MINISTRIES

The PCJH Deacons are ordained people who love to care and support the congregation in acts of compassion and service. Wherever there is a particular need, they step in to help. Their passion is for PCJH to be a loving community of faith eager to show kindness and mercy. Examples of service may include delivering meals to people in need, organizing special projects to help our community, welcoming the visitor, comforting the grieving, and reaching out to the sick and hospitalized.

2024 HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:

• Met for a special retreat to reassess vision and set strategic objectives for the upcoming year.

• Assisted with 4 memorials.

• Adopted updated guidelines for memorial services.

• Provided medical transportation for people who could not drive.

• Provided meal trains for people in bereavement or needing special care.

/ Children’s ministry

Many of you serve in our children’s ministry and we are so thankful for your dedication to further the spiritual development of our kids!

It’s such a joy to witness families coming together, offering encouragement as we guide our children in their journey to follow Jesus.

We are thrilled this year to have a new nursery program supervisor, Steffany Palomino, who loves helping our kids. We consistently see God’s love witnessed by both kids and parents when they pick up their kids from the nursery! In our Pre-K-5th grade Sunday morning programs we have around 25-30 kids. Lots of gratitude to our volunteers who help teach Sunday School lessons, support Parents Night Out by leading games and activities, and the volunteers who teach art lessons.

In the spring, Milestone Sunday acts as a concrete map of hoped-for faith development that recognizes each child’s commitment to God and the church’s involvement in the lives of kids.

Vacation Bible Adventure Camp (VBA) this past summer had over 60 participants from our community in our morning session and the kids learned to “shine Jesus’ light” through the theme of Stellar.

The Fun Club, our Wednesday after school program, returned this fall for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. They participate in reading a weekly devotional, helping with service projects in our community, and enjoy field trips in our community.

The parents were able to get together for fellowship for dinner and social activities. Some of the moms were able to meet for a book club and had coffee at Picnic these last few months.

In December we are always thrilled to have kids of all ages participate in the fabulous Christmas Pageant. The music, acting, and costume design allows the kids and parents to celebrate the birth of Jesus in such a memorable way!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of PCJH congregants in 2024, the Missions Team supported 16 organizations locally, nationally, and globally. Over 50% of contributions stayed within Jackson and the USA, strengthening our community through impactful partnerships with One22, ACMNP, and YoungLife. We were also blessed to aid Presbyterian Church-led hurricane relief in North Carolina, standing with our brothers and sisters in need.

Beyond local efforts, PCJH continues to nurture relationships with Christian organizations and support global mission and humanitarian work. This includes bringing safe water to an underserved village in Zimbabwe, Christian ministry, youth empowerment and local work skill development in El Salvador, land ownership and agricultural strengthening in Guatemala, critical health services and mission work in the Holy Land, among others. We are committed to reaching out in love, making a tangible impact through faith and generosity. We are so deeply grateful for your support in building meaningful Christian partnerships and impact. As we reflect on the past year, the PCJH Administration Team is grateful for the many ways God has sustained our efforts to support the mission and vision of this church. If you’ve stopped by PCJH during a weekday, received a Peak at the Week email, and benefited from our wonderful building or grounds area, you’ve been directly impacted by just some of the work of our team!

2024 HIGHLIGHTS

• Coordinated and hosted three Belong membership classes throughout the year. About 20 potential members attended these events on Sunday afternoons and learned more about the Christian faith and about life at PCJH.

• Assisted Adult Ministries with advertising and coordinating two more Women’s Speaker Series luncheons with over 130 women in attendance between the two events.

• Hosted four overnight service youth groups in summertime who came to serve and recreate in our Church backyard!

• In addition to our summer and year-end stewardship campaigns, we worked with the Home+Sted Committee for

the rollout of the capital campaign this July to fund the employee housing initiative.

The communications from the Front Office, led by Ally Kiefer, was very active this year with more advertising in the community of happenings at PCJH, photos and videos during services, and detailed Peak at the Week emails. We also had three Pinnacle newsletters with personal articles about themes that ranged from glorifying God through art, rediscovering a childlike faith, and connecting to God through story.

FWe have also been blessed by the many volunteers who do everything from stuff church mailers, to building decorations, to bringing delicious treats on Sunday morning. This year also marked the 7-year anniversary of Centro de Vida and seven years of renting the Genesis Room to their growing congregation. Lastly, we’ve continued the robust communications strategy with over 400 Pinnacle newsletters sent out, weekly Peak at the Week email blasts, biannual stewardship campaigns and more throughout the year.

Stewardship of buildings, grounds, and vehicles is a high priority for the congregation and staff and once again most evident by the amount of volunteer time and staff hours devoted to clean-up, repairs and general cleaning. Our mission for buildings and grounds is to serve as stewards of PCJH property and facilities, which includes the church, pastor housing, church grounds, and vehicles. This ministry is responsible for maintenance and operation of, and improvements to, the property and facilities as a sacred and safe place. This ministry performs God’s work at the church, to

Accomplishments for 2024 were mostly in the category of routine maintenance addressing things like door locks and hinges, cleaning carpeting, re-wiring light fixtures, leaking plumbing, and the like.

Our beautiful commercial kitchen, with improvements and upgrades planned for 2025, continues to be very popular in providing opportunities to provide Wednesday dinners. PCJH provided a place to gather, meet, and educate over 20 organizations from the Jackson Hole community in 2024.

A preliminary plan has been completed for the Memorial Garden and Columbarium project mentioned last year.

The personnel team continues its oversight of performance reviews, job descriptions, hiring and access to professional, job-related education. We were more directly involved in changes to the PCJH employee manual and evaluating equitable compensation for all of our staff. It has been a blessing to us to see God’s work carried out by our Spirit-filled staff.

he members and friends of the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole were once again generous and faithful givers of their time, treasure and talent in 2024. It is such a blessing to be part of a church that is so focused on sharing God’s gifts to support the many ministries of PCJH. Financial offerings to the church’s operating costs in 2024 were $1,234,072. just slightly over the year’s operating budget (105%).

The Stewardship Committee is so thankful for these gifts, which support the weekly church services and Bible studies which teach, inspire and uphold us. These gifts allow us to serve our weekly community dinners, support our youth and young adult groups, our Little Lambs Preschool and Vacation Bible Camp. These gifts support our mission partners like One22,

The Stewardship Committee is so appreciative of giving throughout the year, which eases cash-flow issues and helps with planning, and is so grateful for our church full of joyful givers. All these gifts of time, treasure and talent make it possible to spread God’s love in Jackson and beyond. THANK YOU!

In 2024, members of our Home+Sted Housing Task Force obtained approvals from all necessary government agencies, culminating in a 5-0 Town Council vote in favor of our project in July 2024.

The Town of Jackson approved a two-phase development: Phase 1, consisting of 10 (1-4 bedroom) townhomes with a fellowship cabin, and Phase 2, consisting of an additional 11 townhomes.

Pastors Ben and Tammy with Pastor Paul Hayden led an employee housing prayer event on the future Home+Sted develoment.

The design has been a collaborative effort between the PCJH Housing Task Force and our architects and consultants: GreenSpur Architecture, Jorgensen Engineering, Energy 1, Long Lane Partners (LLP), and Shaw Construction., which meets weekly. Initial construction costs for Phase 1 (10 townhomes plus the Fellowship Cabin) were estimated at $12.6 million. To date, the capital campaign has raised $6.5 million.

Accordingly, the Housing Task Force is proceeding with a scaled-back version of the project, focusing on 7 townhome buildings, which aligns the budget closer to what has been raised thus far. Future phases may include additional units and the Fellowship Cabin as funding becomes available.

The design phase is now moving into Construction Documents; the cost of construction is being evaluated including materials and methods. The

Housing Task Force is considering partnerships with others (churches, Town, County, and community-focused non-profits) to bring additional capital to the project in exchange for long-term use of some housing units. We plan to begin construction on Phase 1 this summer.

The incredibly dedicated members of our Home+Sted Capital Campaign Committee have met with PCJH members and friends like you in the past year and have secured commitments from 80 donors thus far of just over $6.5 million. Exceptional staff is the linchpin to PCJH fulfilling its ministry of service to members, congregation and community. And, providing quality housing is key to retaining and recruiting staff. Through our budgeting process we have carefully allocated resources across departments to ensure we are funded for the ministry and mission to which God has called us through PCJH.

• We have no debt, a balanced budget, and funding for ongoing and future ministry.

• We have continued planning for an Employee Housing project, with capitalized costs to date of $760,672. Funding for the project has been from donor restricted gifts, not from the annual budget.

• We started a rainy-day fund eight years ago to ensure that our ministry and mission continues despite unforeseen crises. We have saved $470,923 with a goal of about six months of covered operating expenses.

• Two years ago we reestablished funding to the roof reserve of $10,000 / year from the annual budget; the current balance is $30,125.

• By God’s grace—and yours—our tithes and offerings for 2024 exceeded our operating goal by over $72,000. However, our net operating expenses for the year came in slightly over budget. Taken together, we ended the year with a $8,116 operating surplus. Session decided to allocate the surplus as follows: $816 to future mission projects, and $7,304 to the buildings and grounds maintenance reserve. Applying the surplus to reserve account allows us to reduce the amount we need to raise in offerings the following year.

• Investments in the PCJH Endowment Fund gained 12% in 2024 to a value of $266,277.

• Our goal is to continue to have the financial strength to do whatever ministry the Lord calls us to do to see lives being transformed in Jesus Christ.
