I am an Eagle scout candidate, life scout currently working on eagle project with plenty of time before 18th birthday, and plan to achieve Eagle scout in the upcoming months. The Boy scout Troop I have been Senior patrol for the last four years has doubled in size under my leadership. As Baden Powell once said, "A Scout is never taken by surprise; he knows exactly what to do when anything unexpected happens." Scouting has been very important to me over the past 7 years. For my service project, I decided I wanted to design and build an outdoor food hutch located at my church in downtown Staunton to help fight hunger in my community. I wanted to give back to my church and community for everything they have done for me. Initially, I thought the project would be a breeze. I thought I would start planning the project in November of 2016 and have the project built by Fall of 2017. All across America, young men join together in a special organization called the Boy Scouts of America. Scouts from 1st grade to seniors in high school work toward a common goal: growing up into a functional, mature citizen and leader of the United States. I was a member of the Boy Scouts of America throughout my childhood all the way up through my high school years. During my junior year I organized and carried out my Eagle Scout service project: building a volleyball court for the church at which the troop held its meetings. This was one of the last things I had to complete before I obtained the highest honor in Scouting: the rank of Eagle Scout. It was what I had been working towards for many years. I spent countless hours planning, stockpiling, and recruiting for my project, and many more hours on the construction and final touches. I presented what I thought was the finished product, only to have one of the Scout leaders ask for more. In my eyes, I was done, but I was told that I couldn't get my project signed off if I didn't deal with another construction company and commit to extra hours of renovations. Although my situation in this world is not dire, I have had to work hard to get good grades, to be elected or chosen for leadership positions, and to achieve awards such as Eagle Scout. When I started the scouts I had set a goal to become Eagle Scout when I was sixteen. I worked toward this goal for four years and I successfully achieved it in February of 2014. In listening to a number of men who have achieved this goal each has stressed that the Air Force was the way to go. I have participated many summers in a camp called Space Voyage Academy where I learned about the shuttle program. This camp wasn't all about fun and games. It was about success and failure. At the camp, I participated in a simulation where I was in charge of fifteen Shuttle Transportation System (STS) missions where I created a space station, had a fixed budget, and had the lives of many astronauts in my hands. To finish this project it took about ten hours. It was very easy to fail. If an astronaut perished, if you went over budget, if you allowed to many satellites to be distributed by the European Space Agency the simulation would have to start again. You had to stay organized, and keep perfect records or you fail. From all of these ways to fail I learned how to organize, manage a fleet of shuttles, and lead NASA to gain billions of dollars in revenue. Hello, everyone, I would like to start by remembering my time as a scout and what this journey meant to me. In the past eight years, I have spent wandering the woods, running muck runs and I have learned to try to live life to the fullest and to work hard with my fellow scouts. However better than any lesson taught in school I have discovered something, there are no programs for children to join that is better than scouting. Scouting gives young boys the chance to realize that they are no less capable in triumph than anyone else. There is no program that gives young boys years, not months or a marking period, full years of learning, self–discipline, and self–reliance. That requires a boy to earn his trail, to work hard for each accomplishment from making Scout all the way to Eagle. Also, a program that entrusts a boy to handle knives, fire, and to sleep under the cover of night in the woods on their own, where there may be bears and mountain lions. This is when the Boy Scout learns to overcome his fear and become independent and self–assured. This is an impressive encouragement for a young boy. There are few programs that have coaches and parents that would say, "Yes we trust you and you can handle this challenge". After I attain the rank of Eagle Scout, I will continue to strive for more achievements and work towards completing other goals so I can become a model member of society.

While in high school I plan to maintain a 3.5 GPA or greater while staying involved and prospering in the sports and activities I practice. In the winter I plan to go to State in Knowledge bowl and go to State and possibly the National DECA tournament as well. Personal Narrative: Eagle Scout

The year is 2016, it is a cold and rainy Tuesday afternoon. My father, John Carey, and I are driving to Sherman, Texas. Once I reach Sherman I will go before a board of leaders in order to achieve the ranking of Eagle Scout. I am incredibly nervous, anxious, but really I am ready to get into the meeting and show them that I am trustworthy and capable of achieving such an honor. As we pull up to the church where the meeting will be held, I realize that I could possibly not be ready. I have gone over my project, which they will be asking questions about, a million times.

Not to mention I am the one who orchestrated the planning and everything about the project, so I am very familiar with it. Yet, I sit and wonder what if they ask that one question

I am very proud of being an Eagle Scout. In order to achieve the rank of eagle, I had to put many hours into my scouting career and constantly look for ways to lead and help serve my troop and the community. I am also proud of my project, which betters the Naperville Park District. I couldn't be happier with the final result of the project, as I was able to successfully complete it and it still looks fantastic nearly a year later. There is one thing that President Gerald R. Ford; the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong; filmmaker Steven Spielberg and I all have in common. We are all Eagle Scouts. Since 1911, there have been more than one million Boy Scouts that have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank advancement in Scouting. Now I believe that this is an extremely important motto due to the fact that you can use this in every aspect of your life as I stated above. If your mind and body are prepared for any obstacle that is thrown your way there is nothing that can stop you. Achievement is a very important thing for many reasons. Our achievements are what define us and give us purpose. Achievement helps determine just how far we are willing to go to achieve goals and to make ourselves successful. I have worked for many achievements, in my lifetime, and I have many things that I am proud of. However, out of all of my achievements, I would say that my greatest achievement, was earning the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America.

The rank of Eagle Scout is not something that is easily achieved. Many people have struggled to obtain the rank and have failed. However, many of America 's most influential figures have won the rank of Eagle Scout. Neil Armstrong, Hank Aaron, and Rick Perry are just a few well known figures who have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. To add the rank 's prestige and importance, those who do receive the rank make up a very small portion of the Boy Scouts who join the program.

When I was seven years old, I remember seeing boys from the school 's Cub Scouts program walking through the hallway. Dawned in dark blue uniforms, with orange neckties, and many colorful badges, these scouts stunned me by the unity and patriotic spirit that they showed. That evening, I went home from school and ran to the kitchen table where my father was sitting. I explained to him that I wanted to join scouting. How to Become an Eagle Scout

Oh, the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout! The most sought after award by young men, which eludes all but eight percent of the Boy Scout of America's members. Though its origins date all the way back to 1912, the Eagle Scout award has not only changed in look and in appeal, but also in its requirements needed to obtain such a glorified achievement. According to the Boy Scout Handbook, 12th Edition, There is an official list that is compiled of seven requirements that must be achieved to acquire the award; that is if the youth going for Eagle has met all 70+ requirements for all the ranks prior. But of those seven tasks, are two that stand out above the rest. Scout's Rank: My Greatest Accomplishments

Earning the Boy Scout Eagle rank will be my greatest accomplishment so far in my life. Navigating the path to my Eagle Scout rank has taken half of my life. The rank advancements, acknowledgements and even the challenges along the way have provided their own rewards and have allowed me to grow and better understand myself and others.

I remember being excited to attend my first Cub Scout meeting when I was just nine years old. Memorizing the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack and the Cub Scout Motto earned me my Bobcat rank. I am glad to say that I will begin the installation of the brand new sign for the St. Margaret's Parish Center this weekend for my Eagle Scout Project. The new sign has just been finished, and I am in need of a few dedicated scouts to assist me in the installation. I am looking for between 8–12 scouts to help out this Saturday between 9:00 – 12:00 and 12:00 – 3:00. Bring shovels, wheelbarrows, post diggers, and of course work gloves and safety glasses. I believe leadership and service are two of the most important aspects of an individual; they are very telling of someone's work ethic and internal motivation, and they help drive our nation forward. I am ranked third in my class with a career GPA of 4.0, and I am a member of National Honor Society and the Gifted Program. Through my 10 years of Scouting and my involvement in KAY Club and NHS, I have logged countless hours of community and school service hours; I feel that I have a true impact on my community.
