High school has been an amazing chapter of my life with accomplishments in my rigorous AP courses as well as in lacrosse that have greatly impacted the person I am today: diligent, affable, humble, responsible, and respectful. 2. I honor all my elders who spend their time and energy trying to help teach me. I show my

My high school years have been a memorable experience for me. Not going to school most days because i was a victim to being bullied and stayed silent through those times, getting kicked out of school because my attendance was horrible due to my depression stage and also finding my clear path into joining the fresh start program in davenport .Being accepted into Fresh start was really a goal that I was determined to reach .My high school years was a lot of experience for me and I had many memories going through those years. My mind was determined that I was not going to give up and I kept pushing until I reached my landmark of being accepted and becoming a student at fresh start. Each year of high school bad or good really meant so much to me and it was unforgettable and unexplainable. Going through these events in those years I understand why they are so memorable to me.
My high school years was very tough for me because I was being bullied in school , being picked on daily was aggravating which caused me really to skip school almost every week. I would always try to avoid the bullies. The more I skipped to school to escape them the more problems in my life I couldn't escape. Depression hit me when I was in the 10th grade I really wanted to give up on myself .Not only did bullying stress me out it made me hate school so graduating was the last thing on my mind. I struggled with trying to get myself comfortable with being around more people in school. Being bullied can

The Most Memorable Experience In
Suddenly my senior year of high school was coming to an end, and I found myself looking for a job for the summer. College cost increase every year and I knew that if I wanted extra spending money, I would have to contribute. Summer employment is a great way to earn extra money plus, I am a person who likes to stay busy, and I realized having a job during the break would help accomplish both. Having played multiple sports in high school, I was always doing something throughout my day and I knew I couldn 't have a job like lifeguarding where you have to sit and watch a pool for hours. Having a task to perform or a job to get done are things that I enjoy, and now that I knew I wanted to work I started my first job search by networking with people I thought had connections that could help me land a good job and this search led me down my learning path.
Searching for my first job resulted in my assistant baseball coach giving me the number of a businessman who owned a dry walling company. Having limited work experience and no experience working in construction I found this opportunity intriguing because I am never afraid to work out and I know I can work hard. Sending a text to the number quickly led to an introductory conversation with a man whom I would come to learn a lot from in the next two months. Norm Orban, a self–employed businessman who owns a dry walling company, manages a six man crew that does local jobs around the area I live. Norm's company responded to a variety

My Experience
High School: A time in our lives that sets the mold for who we are going to be in this world. It does this by teaching us great lessons about life, ourselves, and other people through various experiences. One of these experiences I chose to take part in was football. It was this decision that led me to this fateful day. A day in which my left leg was shattered and my perspectives on life were drastically changed. The journey I had embark on to deal with all of the after effects of this event taught me life lessons I'll never forget. It was October 24th, 2014. This date fell on a Friday and during football season that meant it was game day for most high school teams. Not just any game though, it was our district championship. I remember it all like it was yesterday. The smell of the fresh cut grass was so satisfying and the grass itself was even more delightful to see on the field. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Both cheer squads were screaming their chants. Fans and parents alike were yelling and clapping. My shoulder pads were fastened tight around my ribs and shoulders. The adrenaline was flowing through my veins. My mind was prepared for the game but not what was about to befall me. This is where the story starts to spiral downwards. It was about five minutes into the first quarter and we ran up the middle. I was the designated lead blocker. I lunged at the linebacker full force and knocked him down. I had so much momentum going towards him that I went straight to the Get more

My last year of high school, I continuously heard the saying "it's not about learning; it's about passing." that was the good old saying about high school. Honestly, I began to live by that saying...doing whatever it took to graduate, taking a small amount of knowledge from high school to college. Another saying that was tossed around inhigh school was "you will need these things in your future". A lie always contain some truth, and that's exactly what happened I was lied to. In my college experience so far I have used little to sometimes none of the techniques used in high school. My freshman year of high school, I was destined to be great. I was serious about everything; my work ethics were so strong, I sometimes laughed and played but no matter what school always came first. This was because within my first week of high school teachers trained me to think that my high school experience formed my future, I thought I needed their teachings to succeed. The saying "You will need these things in your future" was always pinned to the back of my mind, while in class trying to stay awake, while procrastinating to do homework, while failing quizzes and mostly when I was discouraged about school. With that saying, I made a mission... and my mission was to live by that saying. In other words, I lived by a lie the next four years. Throughout the years I was trained to believe different techniques for different curriculums. For example, I was taught that there are

The ideal high school experience is a relaxing and fun environment in which students get straight A's and move on to achieve their dreams. Well that is not even necessarily close. High school today is full of stressed out students pulling their hair out each night trying to maintain passing grades so that they can get into a college, yet the worst part is that that is not all they have to stress about. Most high school students have jobs or co curricular activities that they attend immediately following the school day. Those activities bring on more stress, yet students are asked to complete lengthy tasks that tear into their free time. Students go through so many things in their daily lives, yet they are constantly drug down by the...show more content...
The more homework students get causes all the late nights and all the stress about maintaining good grades and that is a problem. An article about stress explains that, school is not the only thing that stresses kids out. Parents push their kids to take on plenty of responsibilities that are just simply too much (A Little Stress В¶9). The pressure that parents put on their kids to become pro athletes or to go to an Ivy League school ultimately do more damage than good. The pressure that kids deal with only hurt them in the long run and do a bunch of harm. With all the pressures that these kids have on them, stress has caused many mental and physical problems to students that deal with increased amounts, and they can be pretty severe. Students can develop mental and/or physical problems due solely to the stress they deal with on a daily basis. Stress has greater effects than just worry. Studies have proven that overstress can ultimately causeanxiety (A Little Stress В¶1). Stress in extreme amounts can actually cause problems with a student's mind. An article about the benefits of a mental break during the school day describes that, extreme stress can even cause students to lose sleep, exercise less, and they lose freetime (Do Teens Need В¶3). These sessions during the day are essential to a student not losing their mind because of all the projects and work they have to do. Overstress can even

Writing is one of life 's most important skills and I have learned a vast amount about writing through my high school experience. I have learned that writing is not a strict, structured piece of work, but a free place to express facts and opinions. Personally, I have mixed feelings about writing; I enjoy the independence, but often have a hard time connecting all of my thoughts in a coherent way. Just as most high school students, my writing style and ability has grown and morphed throughout my years, and I still have much to learn.
Looking back on my freshman and sophomore years, I now realize how little I actually knew about reading literature and writing. Before junior year, I had never learned how to actively read a book, how to connect novels to each other, or even what passive voice is! Even being so naive, I still have always been a fairly decent writer. I have always had good grasps on grammar, mechanics, and comma usage. I also have never had an issue with organization of writing. The structural aspect of writing has rarely been an issue for me. I try to exemplify my writing mechanics in my writing by using complex sentences to show that I can lengthen my writing, but still have it make sense. It has always been the creative part of writing that has been my challenge. I have never been a creative person, so at times that aspect of writing has been quite difficult for me.

Reflection About High School Experience
The Truth Inspires High school is an educational and eye–opening place for adolescents and young adults, and is ultimately the last checkpoint some people have before they transition into the adult world. After high school, students are often expected to completely fend for themselves. The transition for many students is complicated and confusing. For this reason, one series of high school experiences I have had that stick out clearly in my mind as a step away from my childish behaviors to my more adult–like ones are my interactions with my tenth grade history teacher, Mr. Hadaway. Mr. Hadaway was one of my greatest teachers, and without his inspiration and motivation, I probably would not have achieved much of what I have managed to accomplish today.
Mr. Hadaway was what you might imagine an Irishman as: red–headed, kind of balding and a very engaging attitude. Mr. Hadaway was an eccentric man and someone the whole school loved; he taught history in a way that made even the most boring lessons fun. Mr. Hadaway also had a very twisted sense of humor, which also helped spice up and turn those potentially dull history lessons into hilarious sessions. Mr. Hadaway was also very blunt and said whatever he thought; this sometimes was terrifying and sometimes comforting. You might be doing your work and have Mr. Hadaway say how good he thinks it is, in front of the class, making you feel great about yourself. However, Mr. Hadaway also might comment on how terrible your latest

High school is a time where young minded teenagers are encouraged to explore their interests and what type of character they want to become when graduation rolls in. My high school experience was an interesting time with choices that have changed my life and some that I wish I could take back. Looking back at my high school career there were some moments where I made the correct choice and some that I wish didn't happen at all. A choice I made at the age of seventeen reminds me of how foolish and deceiving I was at that age when I was still trying to figure out how the world works. Let me offer you some backstory on who I really was during these four weird and chaotic years trying to understand what high school even meant. I was an...show more content...
From the begging of my freshman year coach Rob relies on countability and teamwork for a successful basketball organization. He makes every player sign a contract with rules that must be followed to fullest extent or you're off the team. A week before the big game there's a high school party that I attend with some my friends. It's a girls house and of course the parents are out of town for the weekend. We roll in ready to have a good night and to have some fun with my fellow high school peers.
As a junior in high school you're exposed to a lot of illegal substances and its not hard to get ahold of you know the right people. My friends and I decide to being some alcohol over to the party and other people attending the event bring some as well. After drinking a good amount of alcohol the party is coming to an end and my friends I stumble out of the house looking for a way to get home. One of my friends volunteers to drive and he had been drinking at the party. My foolish character and irresponsibility allowed my self to get in a car with someone who's been drinking and allowing my friend to get behind the wheel being intoxicated. We drive out get about ten minutes from my friends house and get stopped at DUI checkpoint. There's five of us in the car and we all play high school sports. Two play basketball including me play basketball and the other three play baseball. The driver gets a DUI and the rest of

It has been tough gaining School experience, however; my old primary school was very nice in allowing me to shadow different teachers to see if teaching is the right career path for me. I previously gained work experience in a school 8 years ago nevertheless, things have changed intensely. Technology is swiftly changing and children often use laptops as well as interactive whiteboards to increase their development in learning. I have been trying to gain as much experience as possible however, due to work commitments, I have only been able to shadow teachers whilst I have taken holiday from my current job. Helping teachers in my old Primary school was fantastic as I was able to teach children the basics such as reading or spelling. I was set a task to determine how well children were reading and to make notes in their reading diaries to allow parents to see how well their child has developed. Whilst the children were reading I would help them voice certain words that they found tough. I also was in a year three class and the teacher set them a Maths task I was there to help and make notes in the book to help children develop. The teacher in that classroom explained to me that she has deliberately sat all mixed abilities across the classroom as children should be...show more content...

Gaining school experience and helping family/friends has inspired me to apply for teacher training as I am currently retaking my GCSE Science to help me gain a C or above and have already passed my QTS for Literacy and Numeracy. Overall, I feel that I have many skills which would inspire me to help young pupils develop. High School Experience Research Paper
I never truly had a high school experience, sure I had a dozen or so friends, but my relationships with them lacked depth. We may have seen each other on the weekends and laughed at each other's jokes, but in the end it was entirely meaningless. We had almost nothing in common besides the fact that we attended the same school. The only reason I had made friends with them in the first place was simply out of necessity, after all, no one wants to be that kid that sits alone at the lunch table. Had we not become friends, each one of us would have been that kid. Most of my friends weren't academically gifted, not through any fault of their own, after all, they were always busy with their egos. I was a different case entirely, I had an extreme lack of confidence in almost anything I had done, and they didn't help my situation. During my stay in high school, I didn't genuinely apply myself. Teachers would consistently tell me about how much my grades would improve if I simply attend classes regularly in body and spirit. I always shrugged them off and figured that as long as I skirt the line, I'd be fine. I thought to myself, "After all, I had passed through school all these years using the same method, so why wouldn't it work now?"
Despite my low attendance and lack of effort, teachers still enjoyed my presence and would always say that the few times that I was at their class, I added a lot to their lessons. I considered these teachers my true friends, not my fellow

My Experience In The High School Experience
Unique qualities in prospective students are difficult to find when people standardize the high school experience. Everyone has same tests, everyone has a similar curriculum, and everyone has the same activities. If a student is competitive in the college application process, they usually participate in clubs, take AP classes, or play sports. I don't do sports, nor am I a stellar athlete. I have done numerous clubs, extracurricular activities, abroad experiences, and honor societies; taken plenty of AP classes, earned awards, and have a stellar academic record, but I am not all too different than other competitive college applications.
Students from the local math and science school provide intimidating competition, making the application process seem daunting, leaving me feeling smothered by their credentials in comparison because I'm not consumed with academics. However, because I did not go to the most advanced school or take the most advanced math pathway, I know I can bring something unique to the Knoxville campus. I know I can provide something other than the standard. I would be valuable because I remain balanced as a student while starting new programs and opportunities, something evident by my high school experiences. I turn a small window for success into something important, redefining the existing standardized ideals– something imperative to growing a program or school.
I wasn't focused on being the best student from day one of elementary school, but

When people start high school they're usually so excited. They can't wait to experience everything that comes with being in high school, I mean who wouldn't? Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I'm months away from graduating, I can't say they were my best years but I can say they were my most educational years, of course I wouldn't say that they weren't fun because they were. When I say educational, I mean I've learned so much about myself and so much about life. I learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All these events changed me, and I'm glad they happened because I wouldn't have learned all these lessons. My personality hasn't changed; I'm still a carefree girl,...show more content...
My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways that I'm proud of and ways that I'm not proud of. I revolved my world around him, which wasn't a good idea. After almost two years of dating, we broke up and it literally shattered my world. During our relationship I became friends with his friends and I even considered one of them my best friends, so when we broke up I didn't only loose him, I lost all of them as well. It felt so awful to all of a sudden have everything, and then just lose everything in a day. A couple of weeks later, I found out that my best friend was actually dating my ex boyfriend. I couldn't believe that a person could betray someone like that, especially after everything that she and I went through together. I'm not proud of the events that happened after all of this, and I'm not proud of how I let them change me. The one thing that saved me was my family; they saved me in ways I can't even explain. They gave me hope and a new life for me that I am extremely grateful for. I've learned to be wiser when it comes to picking friends, and choosing who to put my trust in. I also became a stronger person, I don't let people walk all over me or I don't let people control my life anymore. The last event is the one that taught me the most about how hard life is, and how life isn't always fair. My junior year was spent in Tijuana,

The High School Experience
The high school experience is something that will forever dominate the psyche of most American adults. It was an unforgettable time of fun, rebel–rousing, summer loves and parties. It was a time of warm summer days at the pool and chilly autumn nights, watching the football team and wondering were the party was going to be that night. School dances and hotel parties. Seems like all I can remember are the good times. High School is a very emotional time for many teens and everything matters. The insidious problems that I had to face are but a smudge on my memory, things like too much homework, zits, mean people, gossip, and algebra. The social atmosphere that permeated every aspect of high school could...show more content...
"The Breakfast Club" characterizes this phenomena by depicting the "jock, the brain, the basketcase, the princess, and the juvenile delinquent". In the movie each character is representative of the social class to which they belong. The "jock" signifies the sports star that can do no wrong, but the movie character bullies another boy and when caught all he received was detention. Although on the other hand the delinquent who is a dope smoking, foul mouthed punk, received the same punishment for talking back to a teacher. Administrators and teachers are very quick to meet out severe punishment to those students that they have deemed worthless, while good kids get a slap on the wrist. The movie's jock is placed in Saturday detention, instead of being suspended, so that he may wrestle in an upcoming tournament; a case in which Hollywood makes an accurate depiction. This is the "holding of power" that Wehlage and Rutter spoke about in their study, High School and Beyond. Students who receive better treatment seem to do better in school when subjected to "an orderly environment, a committed and caring faculty, and an emphasis on academic pursuits"(Nieto,100).
The movie goes on to compare and contrast the "princess" and the "basketcase", both seventeen year old girls who endeavor male attention, yet one is the cool crowd prom queen and the other is the loser, burnout crowd weirdo. Brian, the narrating brain, is a

The first class I attended in high school was English, and it influenced my life forever. The first task my teacher gave us was to write an essay on what we intended to do in our future, for the guidance counselor to keep a record of until graduation. Instantly, I was outstandingly nervous about the assignment as well as I was nervous about high school all together. However, through all the nervousness, I was more than excited to begin the journey. High school was the last chapter of my childhood, and it set me up to pave the way for my future, beginning with thisessay. I entered high school with my sights on majoring in engineering. Mathematics always interested me in the way it had correct and incorrect answers. I could comprehend engineering and excelled at it; but when I got my first English assignment that asked me to write about my future, I was instantly stuck. What is the right way to do this assignment, I wondered? I was nervous about writing a wrong perception of myself. Even more discouraging was that the teacher refused to give us any standards on what he was looking for; he gave us total freedom on the assignment. Full of impatience, I first began to research careers in engineering. I did my best to take thorough notes. Yet even after I took all these notes and knew the careers like the back of my hand, I still did not know the right way to describe my plans. Writing had always been my strong point in English, so I do not know why I

When I first entered St. Charles High School I felt out of place. Almost as if I wasn't supposed to be there. Everyone else seemed to be adults towering over me. As the bell rang to go to first period, I walked very quickly to my first class so I would not be late. I was very nervous but also very excited to start a new chapter of my life. As I look back on freshman year it was very eventful but also a learning experience that I will never forget. As the first few weeks passed of my first year ofhigh school, I began to find my place. I somewhat knew where I was going but I still had to look at my schedule to see what classroom I was going to. The first class I had was civics and that was where I met my favorite teacher, Mr. Freeman. Mr. Freeman and I have previously met due to my older sister throwing discus and shot put on the track team. Civics was one of my favorite classes because I always was interested in government and Mr. Freeman's humor made the class enjoyable. As the weeks passed I noticed a huge difference between middle school and high school. In middle school the teachers seemed to baby you because you were "young," but in high school, they treated you like you were adults and you had more responsibilities. I was looking forward to the new responsibilities because it would keep me busy and would also help me learn. As we approached winter, football season began. I was very excited because I heard we had a good team compared to previous years. On one

My Experience In High School Essay
High School was one of the most interesting journeys I have ever taken. It is a time in which most people grow and develop to find out who they truly are. For me I felt as if I already grew up, I hung out mostly with older people, because of my older brother friends would always hang out at our place so I would try and fit in. Since, I did this I just never really connected with my classmates on their level of maturity. However, I did grow and change in my own way rather than just maturing. My High School made me discover the challenges that life can give you and how to overcome them. Now I know that whoever is reading this must be laughing at the thought of a high schooler saying they have experienced the hardships of life, but my journey...show more content...
I found this person my sophomore year and have loved them ever since. This girl I would move mountains for, and it sucks because I have never loved anyone before. They were the only person I meet that I came close to dating. They graduated last year, but anytime they were in town I would hit them up and we would spend entire days just talking to each other until one day it stopped; they never responded to my texts, we didn't hang out when they came home every time, they just walked out on me without saying goodbye. That is when I learned love sucks, and life doesn't have to be fair about who you love. The third lesson I learned was that life is precious and short. I learned this one when I started working in order to afford college. When I started this job I was able to manage all my school work, extracurricular activities and the job, until the job gave me more hours and started to control what I did in my life. Then one day I quit got my life in order and felt stress free for once in my life, but learning that I should live life while I can wasn't just from a dead end job. In my high school career we have lost two students from the school, one from my grade due to drugs. Other have came close, with one of my friends two days after seeing him for the first time in a while almost died in a car accident. The club that I joined in high school was named young men's leadership this club helped show me how to become a better person to people and how to show others with respect, even if they don't show me the same respect and it also show me how to be a good leader. The way this club showed me how to be a better leader is by having everyone within the club set great leadership around the school, having us help out at soup kitchens around the city whenever we can which was really fun to do. Another interesting experience for me when I was apart this club was when they assigned the older member's of (YML) such as myself as mentors to help the younger members out with their homework, or if they needed advice about something, however these things we had to do sometimes did have a tiny bit of a negative effect but it do that much damage because these things turn out to be a very positive effect at the end of day which was very good. These two experiences that I can remember helping me out a lot I can defiantly say I owe so much to this club in the way it help me become a better and more respectable

First week of high school Fun, scaring, exciting are the feelings of my first week of school. This is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in middle school behind. New school, new friends and new teachers are all part of this new school year.
