OBITUARY

Loretta Marie Adger “Ree”

Loretta Marie Adger, known to many as “Ree” was born October 31,1962 in Anderson, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Bennie Lee (Williams) Adger and Larry Edward Adger. She graduated from Belton Honea Path High School (S.C.) in 1980 where she was a member of Track and Field, she also enjoyed other sports. She moved to Boston in 1986.

Loretta began her career working as a Medical Assistant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Samuel Earl Manora II for over 30 years. Loretta loved the medical field and enjoyed learning; however, she had an opportunity to work for the MBTA and she went for it. She enjoyed working for the MBTA and was an active member of the 589 Carmen’s Union. She retired in 2022 (Badge #2733) after working for the MBTA for 23 years.

Loretta loved her family and was so proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing annually with her friends and family. She believed in working hard and treating yourself in return.

Loretta is special and rare, genuine and her smiled radiated. She enjoyed high fashion and bright colors and took pride in her stunning appearance. She was a devout Christian who served on the Nurses Ministry for a period at Morning Star Baptist Church. She always expressed how she was hungry for the word of God and most recently was attending Shekinah Glory Church in Brockton, MA, where she was able to attend service and visit her grandchildren right down the road shortly after. She was a family person, she valued family time and loved for everyone to get together. She couldn’t hold a grudge if you wanted her to. She would always say, “once I say what I have to say I’m over it”. She valued her friendships and believed in total loyalty.

Loretta was diagnosed with Cancer in 2021, she fought a private battle. She always stated, “I don’t want anyone feeling sorry for me”. She found comfort in continuing to uplift and support others, and SHE NEVER STOPPED SMILING. Loretta was called home by the Lord on July 10, 2023. She passed away at home surrounded by family. We love her and will miss her dearly.

Loretta is survived by her husband Samuel Earl Manora II, her daughter Breanna (Manora) Rodney and son in law Rafael Rodney, her son Samuel Earl Manora III and his wife Tyanna Manora.
