We met through mutual friends on New Year’s Eve 13 years ago and just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this past September. We are the best of friends, adventure partners and balance each other in so many ways. We enjoy the simple things in life most. We love taking nightly walks and catching up on our day, heading to the local coffee shop with a good book or our computers to plan our next travel and going to the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings to grab our produce for the week. We are both very social and enjoying having friends over for dinner, teaching our Sunday School class together and running with a group of friends. The outdoors is where we prefer to be as much as possible, whether it’s biking, hiking, working in the yard, playing tennis or just having dinner on the back patio. We are so excited to share our passion for the outdoors with our children and show them the beauty of nature and take them along on all of our outdoor oriented adventures.

OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS We are so blessed to have a loving and caring extended family. We are fortunate to have Kerrie’s brother and sister-in-law that live within 1 hour of us and we get to spend time with them regularly. Paul’s extended family lives at the beach, 3 hours from our home, and we visit as much as possible. Since we live in a great place our family visits us often and we travel several times a year to visit family that isn’t nearby. We enjoy family traditions with big family meals for birthdays, Easter, Christmas and New Year’s. Our family is enthusiastic about our desire for adoption and we are very excited for them to be an important part of our child’s life.

With the prospect of grandkids we are pretty certain we will have grandparents that move closer and get to be an intimate part of our child’s growing up years.

We live in a very family oriented community and our neighborhood is within walking distance of downtown. There is a nature center with trails only 1 mile from our house and lots of parks to walk or ride bikes to nearby. Our home is perfect for a family and there are many young families with children nearby. Our favorite part of our house is the yard and there are lots of places for children to explore.

MEET KERRIE

I Love Cooking Growing up, I always loved to be in the kitchen; whether it was watching my mom or grandma make dinner or waiting to lick the cookie dough bowl.

I love looking at recipes and cookbooks and cook dinner almost every night. I have taken some nutrition classes over the last couple of years and want to cook as healthy as possible for our family.

Paul and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen together and he is a great helper. I come up with the new ideas and he helps me execute by chopping up veggies, grilling or just keeping me company. Although I’m the cook of the family he makes amazing breakfasts and masters anything on the grill. When I’m not in the kitchen I’m outside. I grew up loving the outdoors; riding my bike everywhere, camping with my family, building forts in the woods with my friends, water-skiing… anything outside. I still always find time to exercise each day whether it’s going for a run, swimming or taking a yoga class. I am so fortunate to work from home part-time as a business development manager for a healthcare company. I really like the people that I work with and what I do. I believe it will be the perfect job when I become a mom.

Paul talks about Kerrie Kerrie is the perfect combination of parts. She’s beautiful, intelligent, attentive, and incredibly loving. She is a hard worker yet always takes time to enjoy the simple and still moments in life. She is an inspiration to me because of her genuine loyalty and honesty in relationships. She gives so much of herself to all the people in her life. She is a natural caregiver and the people she encounters naturally confide in her because of her gentle spirit and wisdom. She will be an amazing mother with so much love and attention to give to our children.

MEET PAUL

I love nature Most people who know me well would say that I am a lover of the outdoors. They would probably tell you that they think of me as really active and always doing something quite adventurous. It’s true because I’m most happy and in my element while being out in nature. The best thing about my love of the outdoors is being able to experience it with Kerrie. The two of us are lucky to have this in common and want to share that love with others. As a child I grew up near a wooded area not far from our home and those childhood joys still find a place in my life. My vocation is in the energy industry as a Resource Efficiency Manager for an engineering company. The work allows me to make a positive environmental impact through good stewardship of resources and management of renewable energy projects. In addition to my energy job I am also a woodworker. Pursuing woodworking is a passion which is a great outlet for creativity. Additionally, I do a lot of volunteer work with my Church and in the community with men’s leadership activities.

Kerrie talks about Paul Paul can best be described as a caretaker and he is thoughtful, fun-loving, adventurous and dependable. He is my best friend and supporter and will be the most nurturing dad I can imagine. Paul is always concerned about others more than himself and has a gift of serving others. He always keeps me laughing and helps me to not take myself too seriously. I look forward to the day that he is a father and I will get so much joy in just watching him interact with our children.
