FOUNDATION INSPIRATION QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER

September 2023

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Thank you to all our supporters who help the Paulding Education Foundation (PEF) grow throughout the years. PEF has come a long way since its inception in 2006, which started with a $25,000 donation from Georgia Power The PEF achieved 501(c)(3) tax exempt status in 2007, and raised a whopping $500. Fundraising efforts expanded, and we were able to offer four $1000 scholarships to a deserving graduate of each Paulding County School District (PCSD) high school

Fast forward to last academic year, we awarded $70,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors and $35,000 in grants to PCSD schools and teachers Additionally, PEF also funded $1,200 in backpacks through Paulding Family Connection. We also persistently fund seed money for eighth graders, who will have a chance to receive up to $30,000 in scholarships once they graduate, through the REACH Georgia statewide program.

This academic year, we have already donated $10,000 in grants to new and returning teachers to buy classroom resources and supplies. PEF strongly supports PCSD teachers, staff, and leaders through fundraising efforts that support ou $ l budget. The PEF also strives to manage our as in a way that ensures students of today and in the future always have access to scholarships.

Thank you to our board of trustees as well as the PCSD for your support and contributing to our success. We look forward to another outstanding academic year with the support of our members and sponsors

SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO THE TOP 3 GIMME 5 FOR EDUCATION CONTRIBUTORS

Late May of 2023, the Paulding Education Foundation (PEF) began campaigning for leaders, teachers, and staff of the Paulding County School District (PCSD) to become or remain members of the PEF. Many people within the PCSD made a commitment to give at least $5 for education via monthly payroll deductions to PEF However, there are a few schools who are going above and beyond in recruiting their leaders, teachers and staff to become or remain members of the PEF through our "Gimme 5 for Education" initiative, and they deserve our public display of gratitude and recognition.

The following schools are the top 3 leading contributors to the "Gimme 5 for Education" initiative:

70 % participation from the teachers and staff at New Georgia Elementary

68 % participation from the teachers and staff at McGarity Elementary 53 % participation from the teachers and staff at Dallas Elementary
