Sustainability and Social Value

In 2019 we launched our formal Sustainability Strategy, setting ambitious targets to minimise our impact on the environment through CO2e reduction, responsible and ethical sourcing and engagement with the community.

At PRMF, our aim and a key driver in our strategic direction is to achieve net zero by the end of 2022 for our scope 1 (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources) and scope 2 (indirect emissions from the generation of purchased energy). This will mean we have achieved a balance between the amount of greenhouse gas we produce and the amount we take from the atmosphere. We are also striving to have a full understanding of the life cycle emissions of our products so our customers can make informed choices.

Our commitments include Helping our customers create sustainable homes and communities.

Complying with current and identification of future legislative requirements.

Continually improving, assessing and managing environmental risk.

Ensuring more efficient use of raw materials, reduction in waste and removal of less suitable materials from the supply chain.

The future

Our sights are now very much set on the future, to 2025 and beyond with aspirations of a climate positive organisation and a product offering that wholly embraces the principles of a circular economy.

This will be achieved by further designing out waste, keeping our products and materials in use for longer and contributing positively to the regeneration of natural systems.

Our BS: EN 14001

Certified Environmental Management demonstrates our commitment to identifying our environmental aspects and minimising the impact our local environment as well as on a wider scale.

Ensures that we are assessed against these minimum standards but its importance means we continue to push ourselves and achieve much more.

Waste

100% of our timber process waste is sent for energy recovery and cardboard now replaces the polystyrene once used packaging our doors and is collected for recycling.

Local Community

Through both employment and by working with our own and our clients local communities and organisations we aim to have a lasting positive impact.
