OASIS BLANCO Oasis Blanco offers a space to those who want to deepen themselves, disconnect from their reality, and let themselves be invaded by new stimuli. A white circular landmark in the desert of Cabo de Gata.

Oasis Blanco ofrece un espacio a aquellas personas que quieren profundizar en sí mismas, desconectar de su realidad y dejarse invadir por nuevos estímulos. Un hito circular blanco en pleno desierto de Cabo de Gata.

This space will be shared with the carraca, a brightly colored migratory bird about to disappear, which has found a place of refuge within these walls. It feeds on slow arthropods and fliers that inhabit and feed on trees. Due to deforestation and insecticides, just like many other birds, the rattlesnake is endangered. All of Almeria’s protected vegetation will be collected in the oasis. In this way, it is possible to recover and value biodiversity in general and protected species in particular.

Este espacio será compartido con la carraca, un ave migratoria de colores vivos a punto de desaparecer, ha encontrado un lugar de refugio entre estos muros. Se alimenta de los artrópodos y voladores lentos los cuales habitan y se alimentan de los árboles. A causa de la deforestación y de los insencticidas, al igua que muchas otras aves, la carraca se encuentra en peligro de extinción. En el oasis se recogerá toda aquella vegetación protegida de Almería.

De esta manera se consigue recuperar y poner en valor la biodiversidad, en conjunto; y las especies protegidas, en particular.

Taking into account the climatic conditions, a series of criteria are established, according to which the project takes place underground. Issues such as light or ventilation are solved by skylights and threesquares that establish an indirect relationship with the landscape. The white square: sun, light, meeting place.

The two green squares: shady, vegetation area, space for reflection. Taking into account these concepts, in the first one, the water is favored, while in the rest, the vegetation and the cycle of the ratchet are prime.

Teniendo en cuenta las condiciones climáticas se establecen una serie de criterios, según los cuales, el proyecto se desarrolla bajo tierra. Cuestiones como la luz o la ventilación quedan resueltas mediante lucernarios y tres plazas que establecen una relación indirecta con el paisaje. La plaza blanca: de sol, de luz, lugar de reunión. Las dos plazas verdes: de sombra, zona de vegetación, espacio de reflexión. Atendiendo a estos conceptos en la primera se favorece el agua, mientras que en el resto prima la vegetación y el ciclo de la carraca.

The path through the spaces can be used to improve the common areas, turning them into true oases. From these, a transition to the individual spaces is established through sinuous corridors. This sense of gradation is intuited thanks to the direct and indirect light of each space.

Mediante el recorrido a través de los espacios se consiguen potenciar las zonas comunes, haciendo de estas verdaderos oasis. A partir de estos, se establecen una transiciones hacia los espacios individuales mediante unos pasillos sinuosos. Esta sensación de gradación se intuye gracias a la luz directa e indirecta de cada espacio.

‘AR 250’ - Rouen Artist “AR 250” is an inspired multidisciplinary way to grow up professionally as an artist. The retreat located in Rouen, Normandie, gather 250 rooms for 250 different background artists.

It is an art lab of sorts,that aims to bring together art, ecology, and society.

“AR 250” es una forma multidisciplinaria inspirada de crecer profesionalmente como artista. El retiro ubicado en Rouen, Normandie, reúne 250 habitaciones para 250 artistas de fondo diferentes. Es una especie de laboratorio de arte, que tiene como objetivo reunir el arte, la ecología y la sociedad.

The proposal begins with the former building revitalization, Grand ’mare from Marcel Lods architects.After a big fire that ended up with most of the buildings of the complex, a new life is needed. Based on the two-steel building, which escaped from the flames, the project re-usesthe materials, and convert it into a mixed-use residential, public, and work building.

Over a broad of qualities, sustainable development is the main strategy, achieved thanks to the compost, setting co-working between users. Composting includes dumpsters, hens, orchard, vegetation, and market.

La propuesta parte de la revitalización del antiguo edificio, Grand ’mare de los arquitectos Marcel Lods. Tras un gran incendio que acabó con la mayor parte de los edificios del complejo, se necesita una nueva vida. Tomando como base el edificio de dos aceros, que escapó de las llamas, el proyecto reutiliza los materiales y lo convierte en un edificio de uso mixto residencial, público y laboral.

Sobre un amplio abanico de cualidades, el desarrollo sostenible es la principal estrategia, conseguida gracias al compost, configurando el co-trabajo entre usuarios. El compostaje incluye basureros, gallinas, huerta, vegetación y mercado.

The outdoor intervention is conceiving as an urban layout of streets, understanding the surroundings. Central spaces are open to the public, connecting users with city through climatespecific vegetation: love tree, silver eucalyptus, Japanese maple, white willow, and ivy. Vegetation is relatively important in the project, look for the artist’s inspiration bringing him close to the nature and giving him healthy benefits: good to reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue; preventing colds, stopping headaches, and even reducing blood pressure; purifying the air; and helping us breathe better.

The original building’s concrete steel waffle slab structure allows new project an indefinitely horizontally built. Steel beams and steel columns for structure and glass enclosures. Indoors space is conceptualized as a way of community living, dividing the complex in workspace and residential section. Central building is intended to lecture rooms, studios, or drawing rooms in the upper floors, for artists use, and compost and marketplace on the ground floor, for public use. Apartments shelter private artist’s studios and bedding zone; dining, kitchen, and bathroom area are common facilities. South façade let natural light entry into those spaces and is regulated thanks to a two-role vegetable wall panel: controlling of light and giving user’s privacy.

The ecosystem, comes by users (artists and public), compost and vegetation, is what create a good working environment. The exchange of information or creativity, among others, makes artists finish the retreat having grown personal and professionally.

La intervención exterior se concibe como un trazado urbano de calles, entendiendo el entorno. Los espacios centrales están abiertos al público, conectando a los usuarios con la ciudad a través de la vegetación específica del clima: árbol del amor, eucalipto plateado, arce japonés, sauce blanco y hiedra. La vegetación es relativamente importante en el proyecto, busca la inspiración del artista acercándolo a la naturaleza y brindándole salud beneficios: bueno para reducir el estrés, la ansiedad y la fatiga; prevenir resfriados, detener dolores de cabeza e incluso reducir la presión arterial; purificando el aire; y ayudándonos a respirar mejor.

La estructura de losa reticular de acero y hormigón del edificio original permite que el nuevo proyecto se construya horizontalmente de forma indefinida. Vigas de acero y columnas de acero para estructura y cerramientos de vidrio. El espacio interior se conceptualiza como una forma de vida comunitaria, dividiendo el complejo en espacio de trabajo y sección residencial. El edificio central está destinado a aulas, estudios o salones en los pisos superiores, para uso de artistas, y compost y mercado en la planta baja, para uso público.

Los apartamentos albergan estudios de artistas privados y zona de ropa de cama; el comedor, la cocina y el baño son instalaciones comunes. La fachada sur permite la entrada de luz natural a esos espacios y se regula gracias a un panel de pared vegetal de doble función: controlar la luz y dar privacidad al usuario.

El ecosistema, formado por los usuarios (artistas y público), el compost y la vegetación, es lo que crea un buen ambiente de trabajo.

El intercambio de información o creatividad, entre otros, hace que los artistas terminen el retiro habiendo crecido personal y profesionalmente.

LA COTA DE DASHUR The level of Dashur proposes a tour and an entrance to the pyramids of Dashur.

La cota de Dashur propone un recorrido y una entrada a las pirámides de Dashur.

An irregular wall that adapts to the topography of the place, the desert, enhances the views of the three pyramids.

The intention of generating spaces of value, spaces of shade and spaces of sun is achieved in several ways.

Un muro irregular que se adapta a la topografía del lugar, el desierto, pone en valor las vistas hacia las tres pirámides. La intención de generar espacios de valor, espacios de sombra y espacios de sol se consigue por varias vías.

Through a topographic study and a study of the movement of the sun, some geometric axes are established from which this wall grows. Throughout this, programs such as a cafeteria, a parking lot for visitors or viewpoints are established.

The viewpoints are strategically located at three key points within the route.

The wall thus makes its way through the desert to generate a large crack that will only adapt and not modify the landscape.

A través de un estudio topográfico y un estudio del movimiento del sol, se establecen unos ejes geométricos de los que crece este muro. A lo largo de este se establecen programas tales como son una cafetería, un aparcamiento para los visitantes o miradores.

De manera estratégica se sitúan los miradores en tres puntos clave dentro del recorrido.

El muro así se abre paso por entre el desierto para generar una gran grieta que únicamente se adaptará y no modificará el paisaje.

EDUCARSE EN LA NATURALEZA “Educarse en la naturaleza”, as its name indicates, recovers the outdoor school scheme, which relates the classroom-yard.

Located in the district of Chamberí, between the avenue Ramón and Cajal, the park of Berlin and the school Fundación Santamarca, the project takes advantage and creates a great cover by which plant species grow and creates at the same time an own interior landscape.

“Educarse en la naturaleza”, como su propio nombre indica, recupera el esquema de la escuela al aire libre, que relaciona el aula-patio. Situado en el distrito de Chamberí, entre la avenida Ramón y Cajal, el parque de Berlín y el colegio Fundación Santamarca, el proyecto se aprovecha y crea una gran cubierta por la que crecen especies vegetales y crea a su vez un paisaje propio interior.

A harmony is sought between the space, the atmosphere that is generated and the structure. In this way the architecture and the structure are one. Constructively, the project grows from a staggered topography adapted to the situation in slope of the site. A system of overlapping concrete elements is created: Walls, between which the program is located; main beams, which organize the composition and cover horizontally the plot; and finally, secondary beams that sew all that cover and that organize in turn the different programs.

Se busca una armonía entre el espacio, la atmósfera que se genera y la estructura. De esta manera la arquitectura y la estructura son uno. Constructivamente, el proyecto crece desde una topografía escalonada adaptada a la situación en pendiente del solar. Se crea un sistema de superposición de elementos de hormigón: Muros, entre los que se sitúa el programa; vigas principales, que organizan la composición y que abarcan horizontalmente la parcela; y por último, vigas secundarias que cosen toda esa cubierta y que organizan a su vez los distintos programas.

The vegetation of the school organizes the space visually classifying them by colors and by the type of leaf, deciduous or perennial.

The school is located on one floor. Classrooms, singular spaces and bathrooms arise in the form of pavilions that appear among nature. This scheme allows a fluid circulation.

In addition, a single element arises that sets the gaze on the trees. A passable cover. This puts in value the elevation north, that makes the architecture to be lost between the nature and that makes us question where is the inside and where is the outside.

Constructively all elements come into harmony due to their dimensions and materials. The structure: concrete walls and beams. The enclosures instead pursue lightness, always work by filters, which achieve diffuse lighting. latticework in the case of windows and a glass and cloth system for the cover.

The classroom-courtyard relationship, an enclosure that allows to open the space completely and blur the interior of the exterior, a diffuse lighting achieved by the vegetation, and the roof, a cross ventilation, a light furniture that allows to move freely, a fluid circulation, and a character of each courtyard.

All this makes the courtyard classroom relationship indissoluble, the exterior interior relationship is indissoluble, and the relationship architecture and nature is indissoluble.

La vegetación de la escuela organiza el espacio visualmente clasificándolos por colores y por el tipo de hoja, caduca o perenne.

La escuela se desarrolla en una única planta. Las aulas, los espacios singulares y los baños surgen en forma de pabellones que aparecen entre la naturaleza. Este esquema permite una circulación fluida.

Además, surge un único elemento que pone la mirada en los árboles.

Una cubierta transitable. Esta pone en valor el alzado norte, que hace que la arquitectura se pierda entre la naturaleza y que nos hace cuestionarnos donde está el dentro y donde está el fuera.

Constructivamente todos los elementos entran en armonía por sus dimensiones y materiales. La estructura: muros y vigas en hormigón. Los cerramientos en cambio persiguen la ligereza, funcionan siempre mediante filtros, que consiguen una iluminación difusa. unas celosías en el caso de las ventanas y un sistema de vidrio y tela para la cubierta.

La relación aula-patio, un cerramiento que permite abrir el espacio completamente y difuminar el interior del exterior, una iluminación difusa conseguida por la vegetación, y la cubierta, una ventilación cruzada, un mobiliario ligero que permite moverse libremente, una circulación fluida, y un carácter propio de cada patio.

Todo esto consigue que la relación aula patio sea indisoluble, que la relación interior exterior sea indisoluble, y que la relación arquitectura y naturaleza sea indisoluble.

Overwinters as a semideveloped caterpillar and then grows into a cocoon attached to a blade of grass or plant stem.

The wingspan is 35-40 mm.

The wings are white or cream in color with dark veins on top and black or dark brown veins on the underside.

Underwings usually also show a blackish transverse stripe past center, very faint on hindwings. Fresh butterflies are usually cream in color, but as they age, the wings become whiter.

With the disappearance of the scales, the black veins on the underparts become increasingly visible on the upperparts through the wings.

La Siona Lineata es una mariposa que vuela durante el día desde principios de mayo hasta finales de junio. Pasa el invierno como una oruga semidesarrollada y luego crece en un capullo unido a una hoja de hierba, o a un tallo de planta.

La envergadura de las alas es de 35-40 mm. Las alas son de color blanco o crema con venas oscuras en la parte superior y venas negras o marrón oscuro en la parte inferior. La parte inferior de las alas suele mostrar también una raya transversal negruzca más allá del centro, muy tenue en las alas traseras. Las mariposas frescas suelen ser de color crema, pero a medida que envejecen, las alas se vuelven más blancas. Con la desaparición de las escamas, las venas negras de las partes inferiores se hacen cada vez más visibles en las partes superiores a través de las alas.
