Are You Killing the Growth or Helping it Thrive?

Power and pressure washing are highly effective methods for ridding concrete and brick driveways, walkways, and sidewalks of inorganic stains like drink spills. These surfaces can withstand high-pressure cleaning to blast those spills and stains away.

What is the Best Method For Cleaning Algae-Ridden Walkways and Sidewalks?

While we have the tools and expertise to pressure wash surfaces, for a growth like this, softwashing is our solution.

Why is SoftWashing the Answer?

The pressure could have the opposite effect when it comes to organic stains such as algae growth. The high pressure is not killing the growth but blasting the spores and potentially helping them thrive and spread. This means that you could need another cleaning in a matter of months. If you are trying to tackle algae growth, it’s important to remember that this is a living organism that needs to be killed at its root system to halt the growth.

We use biodegradable bleach-based products and low-pressure to kill the growth at its root systems to prevent it from growing back. We let the soap solutions do the work meaning there’s no use for high pressure which also allows us to use less water. When you apply high pressure to this type of growth, you ’ re not killing it, but rather spreading the spores allowing the opportunity for It to reemerge in a matter of months.
