Firearm Charges Layed Against Former Ste. Anne Police Officer A former Ste. Anne police officer Randy Chudyk has been charged with one count of careless use of a firearm and one count of pointing a firearm. The firearm in this incident was a taser or stun gun. In January Manitoba’s Director of Policing requested that the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) conduct an independent investigation into the actions of a police officer with the Ste. Anne Police Department. The ASIRT investigators’ report was sent to independent crown counsel in Manitoba for review. After considering the completed report and crown opinion, the ASIRT Executive Director has determined that
one officer from the Ste. Anne Police Department should be charged criminally in relation to his conduct. November 21, ASIRT investigators operating in Manitoba charged Chudyk. His first court appearance is Jan. 10 in Steinbach.s He has since resigned from the Ste. Anne Police Department, according to ASIRT, which is an independent body led by a civilian director with the mandate to investigate incidents or complaints involving serious injury or death, and matters of a serious or sensitive nature that may have resulted from the actions of a police officer.
the present time." The 46 year-old Lambert was driving a black Ford crew cab pick-up truck which has been nowhere to be found. Ryll says Winnipeg Police have put out a cross-Canada alert for that vehicle. Ryll adds, as far as the search in Sandilands, "The aerial search and the ground search didn't produce any evidence to suggest that the missing person is in the area where he was last seen so at one point or another we have to cease the official search. But that doesn't mean we are not going to keep acting on any tips or information or leads that we receive from the public." Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call a local police agency or the Winnipeg Police Service's missing persons unit at (204) 986-6250.
