7,000 sq. m. New wing plus refurbished existing hotel

Overlooking Hyde Park, The Berkeley Hotel celebrates contemporary architecture with a new nine-storey-high wing design by Richard Rogers and Partners.

With planning permission being granted in 2017, The Hotel aims to provide the highest quality 5 star accommodation, increase the number and type of hotel rooms, upgrade the public areas, bars and restaurants plus provide a new spa and pool facility.

Penthouse Gym Pavilion

This glass pavilion houses a private gym for the penthouse suite at Claridge’s. Its unique location presented structural and technical challenges as it sits over the glass roof of one of the hotel’s courtyard.

As the lower portion of one of the main staircases, the feature glass stair at ground floor aims to disappear on the eye of the guests allowing breathtaking views towards the sea. Stainless steel and structural glass materialise this stair in an industrial but carefully crafted language. Two additional external steel stairs bring a pop of colour using a similar language (opposite page).
