A Master Plan for the site was developed with input from the public, our partners, and agency specialists.

It provides a compelling vision for what this site will become over the next few years, merging the National Park Service mission with the goals of the community.

While preserving the historic character of the buildings, the archaeological resources underground, and the cultural landscape, the NPS and its many partners will bring Vancouver Barracks into its next chapter of public service.

Public agencies, nonprofits, and community groups, retail and commercial businesses will come together to transform this former military post into a vibrant, accessible campus.

It will take time to achieve the entire vision laid out in the Master Plan, but this site will move steadily towards its new role as a model for the responsible reuse of historic sites. Many exciting changes are on the horizon!
