SFC Energy’s headquarters will be located in Winter Park, Florida, and will cooperate in joint marketing with Solar Stik. Following the successful transition, SFC Energy plans to designate Solar Stik as the preferred U.S. integrator of SFC Energy products into Solar Stik customer deliverables for U.S. customers. “Solar Stik and SFC Energy are a perfect match,” says Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy. “Our U.S.-based customers will appreciate the very high level of service and expertise that Solar Stik is known for industry wide. AROUND THE INDUSTRY SFC Energy Partners with Solar Stik SFC Energy, a provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets based in Brunnthal/Munich, Germany, and Solar Stik Inc., a U.S. based leader in the portable power industry, has entered the first phase of a multi-phase, cooperative venture with Solar Stik providing collaborative support at its Floridabased headquarters for SFC Energy to better serve its North American customers. The collaboration allows SFC Energy to service its fuel cell products at Solar Stik’s St. Augustine facility. During the first phase of the venture, Solar Stik team members will assist SFC Energy in logistics, service, and inventory support. Both Solar Stik and SFC Energy have complimentary capabilities and both service similar customers in the portable power market space. The completion of the transition of SFC Energy’s U.S. service and repair operations to Solar Stik’s headquarters is anticipated to be complete by the end of April 2016.

PowerDisc Changes Name to Loop Energy PowerDisc Development Corp. of Vancouver, Canada, has changed its name to Loop Energy to mark the introduction of the company’s zero-emission powertrain for heavy-duty transportation. “Loop Energy better represents our business because it speaks to how our products work and to the larger principles of a zero-emission economy,” says Ben Nyland, president of Loop Energy. The Loop heavy-duty powertrain combines an electric battery with a hydrogen fuel cell designed around their patented eFlow ® technology to deliver superior performance compared to diesel engines, while producing only water vapor as exhaust. In contrast, heavy-duty diesel engines produce a disproportionate share of carbon and particle pollution in North America. The Loop powertrain also matches diesel engines on a total cost basis without subsidies, making it ideal for short and regional-haul trucks that operate at distribution centers and international ports.
