President’s Message

Dear Participants,

Welcome to the Allegheny West Christian Youth Leadership Conference Weekend! I along with our Executive Vice President Pastor Joel Johnson, our Chief Financial Officer Keisha Bone and our inspirational Youth Director Pastor Jamal Franklyn are thrilled to have you join us for this exciting opportunity to grow in faith, develop leadership skills, and connect with fellow young leaders from across the Conference.

This weekend is designed not just as an event, but as a transformative experience. You will engage in workshops, discussions, and activities that will inspire you to embrace your unique gifts and use them to make a positive impact in your communities and beyond. Our speakers and facilitators are eager to share their insights and wisdom, helping you to deepen your understanding of Christian leadership.

As you gather together, we encourage you to be open, active, and engaged. This is a safe space to explore your faith, ask questions, and share your perspectives. Remember, your voice matters, and we are excited to hear it!

Pastor Franklyn and his team have planned a variety of activities that will foster fellowship, fun, and growth. From team-building exercises to worship sessions, each moment is an opportunity to learn and connect.

Thank you for being a part of this special weekend. I am absolutely positive that this will be an unforgettable experience filled with inspiration, friendship, and spiritual growth. “The Best Is Yet To Come…”

Blessings,

Director’s Message

Welcome to YLC 2024!

You are here because you are Talented and Gifted!

1 Peter 4:10 reminds you that “Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor]. 1 Peter 4:10

This weekend is about equipping club directors and youth leaders to identify and mentor the talents and gifts of our youth. Sister White appeals that “the children and youth, with their fresh talent, energy, and courage, their quick susceptibilities, are loved of God, and He desires to bring them into harmony with divine agencies…Their time, their strength, their capabilities, are His, to be developed, to be trained, to be used for Him.” In Heavenly Places, p. 217.

Therefore, we pray and hope that YLC 2024, will revive you for mentorship of youth and energize you to deploy youth to go on God’s errands for mission.
