Parviz Soroushian
With a career spanning nearly 40 years as a civil engineer, Parviz Soroushian has shared his extensive industry expertise with his professional community in numerous ways. He is co-author of the book Structure-Property Relationships for Cement-Based Materials, published in 2009. In addition, he has a long record of authorship on more than 200 journal publications such as “Evaluation of Refined Cement-Based Matrix Systems for Extrusion of Wood Fiber Cement,” The principal investigator for more than 100 research projects, Parviz Soroushian has secured 21 patents, including those for an augmented cementitious binder composition and related methods, nano-engineered structural joints, and a self-loading locomotion mechanism. Parviz Soroushian studied structural engineering at Cornell University, acquiring a Master of Science in 1981 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1983. That year, he joined the engineering faculty at Michigan State University, retiring in 2019 from his post as Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In his free time, Mr. Soroushian enjoys sharing his professional experience by publishing online and in technical journals, and by engaging with professional groups like the American Concrete Institute.
