Wiring side marker lights can sound a little daunting but it isn't. To give you a better understanding and make things easier, we have penned all the steps. Side marker lights are needed on any vehicle driven these days. They don't produce as much luminosity as the headlights but they come in handy in desperate times. Although most states in the U.S require red marker lights on both tail lights, and amber marker lights mounted near the front of the vehicle, you should always check the rules of your state/country. Marker lights are located on both sides of the vehicle. Be it trailer side marker lights or lights of any other vehicle, wiring them isn't that difficult. Check first if your trailer lights are working or not. Don't panic if they aren't. You only a few important steps need to follow and you’re good to go!

1. Identify the power wire Identifying the power wire will be the first thing you need to do. Use the standard four-wire scheme for trailers. Check for the orange or brown wire, they will be the right source for the marker lights.
