Shabbos Candle Lighting Kavana If you look at the candles and you say, “I am able to live having my relationship with Hashem.”.

And to watch my light expand..

Because now the light of Shabbos will fill my home. Or, now it is going to fill my home with the light of Yom Tov; the Shefa, abundant influence, of Ohr Light.

When I acknowledge that the way I praise Hashem can actually increase my own light, and my Nefesh is dancing. it can then further expand the light to the whole world and becomes a form of Hallel.

This is something Miriam Haniviah personified.

The last Perek of Tehillim states, ‫הַ לְלּוהּו בְת ֹף ּומָ חֹול‬, Praise Him with cymbal and dance.1 When we light Shabbat candles, Think,”We are bringing this light that expands until the whole world is illuminated by Hashem’s Light.

We are trying to bring the world this Shefah, which is a form of Hallel; to experience the joy of our relationship with Hashem, as if our souls were dancing, and merit to the experience the future dance and declare, This is Hashem Whom we waited… as it states in the G’marra, “In the future, in the end of days, the Holy One, Blessed be He, will arrange a dance of the righteous, and He will be sitting among them in the Garden of Eden, and each and every one of the righteous will point to God with his finger, as it is stated, ‫וָא ֹמַ ר ּבַּיֹום הַ הּוא הִ ּנֵה‬ ‫אֱ ֹלהֵ ינּו זֶה ִקּוִינּו לֹו וְיֹוׁשִ יעֵ נּו זֶה ה׳ ִקּוִינּו לֹו ָנגִילָ ה וְנִׂשְ מְ חָ ה ּבִיׁשּועָ תֹו‬, And it shall be said on that day: Behold, this is our Lord, for whom we waited, that He might save us. This is Hashem; for whom we waited. We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation”2
