Our Services

Our Introduction: A note from our Chief Executive: “I have been providing Family Support for over 25 years in various roles, but because I have a child with Autism myself, I have also been on the receiving end of it too which has made me passionate about getting it right. In the early days of having people visit our home we met some amazing practitioners and we also met some who, even though they wanted to help, had a lack of resources and skills at their disposal and potentially made things worse. A word we hear all the time is ‘fail’, - parents who feel they are failing, young people who think they are failures and professionals who feel they are failing their clients. I can relate to that - times where it felt like the only word I had spoken all day was ‘No’ and mornings where wanting to lie in bed with the quilt over my head and hoping it would all just go away looked very inviting. But it doesn’t go away - you can however change how you see things and gain knowledge and strength from others around you. The current effectiveness of support is diminished by the criteria and systems around it and so here at Autism and ADHD we do things differently. To start with we are a lifespan service, so we don’t stop and start at certain ages and we don’t require a diagnosis to be in place before we can talk to you and offer support. We never close a file, so when another challenge comes along, which it will, if you need to touch base with us again then you can - no rereferral or waiting - just a phone call or email and someone will get back to you. The staff team have a huge amount of training and expertise but we are also always being told that one of the things we bring is good old fashioned common sense. We listen, observe and analyse what everyone's Behaviour is telling us so that we understand, and then come up with solution based strategies that will work for YOU, not for the family down the road, but YOUR family. I look forward to working with you,

Autism & ADHD is renowned both locally and nationally for the quality & adaptability of our trainings. Training Feedback.

“I was very impressed with the training & will defiantly be using this provider again – as well as recommending them highly to other organisations to use… My team were very impressed by the training, the members who have attended similar training’s previously have said they felt like they had a fresh mind and were introduced to new information, the majority of the team who hadn’t been to a training like this before felt like they had a much better understanding of ASD and how people on the spectrum see the world. The team already have a few ideas to set in place, allowing them to support individuals a lot more effectively.” Stowmarket Saturday Club

“As a member of the Administrative team I’m often included in trainings but I was yet to have attended a training that was relevant to me, they were all aimed at the teachers & TA’s – This was really inclusive of everyone and I feel this activity has made a real difference to me.” St Margaret's Community Primary School “Not only have my students benefited from this lecture, I too have, I have learned new techniques and have changed the way I think about students with ASD. I can’t wait to get the feedback from them, but I’m sure it will be overwhelmingly great too, I’ve never seen the group engage as much as they did today, Thank you! University Campus Suffolk
