Caggiano Orthodontics Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Caggiano Orthodontics celebrated the moving to 272 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony preformed by the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, October 22. They were delighted to celebrate with Parsippany-Troy Hills Mayor Michael Soriano, PACC President Robert Peluso, PACC Executive Board Member Frank Cahill, and PACC Board Members Ildiko Peluso and Nicolas Limanov.

In addition, Dr. Caggiano and his team recently hosted a Smiles Change Lives event on October 14, with a goal to donate $1 million worth of treatment. Smiles Change Lives is a nonprofit organization that provides care to children who’s familied cannot afford the cost of orthodontic treatment.

Dr. David Caggiano is a nationally well-known orthodontist who is proud to practice in the Parsippany area and serve the community close to where he grew up. Raised in Fairfield and son of an engineer, he attended NJIT, where he graduated

top of his class with a Master’s of Science degree in biomedical engineering.

During his time there, he was the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships.

Despite his academic success, Dr. Caggiano decided that a career in dentistry offered the best opportunity to combine his skills in art with his engineering background.

A 2001 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers University), Dr. Caggiano practiced as a general dentist for seven years before becoming an orthodontist.

Combining his background in biomedical engineering with his extensive training and experience in general dentistry, Dr. Caggiano can create innovative and exciting approaches to solve even the toughest orthodontic situation, in a manner that is as efficient as possible.

RECIPE

Crispy Candied Brussel Sprouts Cut the ends off the Brussel sprouts and then cut into halves In a bowl, mix together the wet ingredients and stir well; then add crushed garlic.

Put the Brussel sprouts in a large cast iron skillet then pour the Craisins, Onions, and Bacon Pieces on top.

Pour the wet ingredients all over the top and mix well.

Finish with fresh ground pepper and salt.

2-pound bag of Brussel sprouts (cut into halves) 1 cup of Craisins (plus some extra to sprinkle on top at the end if you’d like) 1/2 cup of real bacon pieces 1/2 cup of real, organic maple syrup 1/3 cup of olive oil 1/2 cup diced onions 1 tsp of minced garlic Fresh ground salt and pepper to taste

Make sure that all the wet ingredients coat the Brussel sprouts evenly and that there are plenty of craisins and bacon mixed to the top (they tend to find their way down and stick to the bottom and you want some on top as well) before you put it in the oven.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes then take them out and mix well. Turn the oven onto broil and let it preheat. Place the Brussel sprouts back into the oven for 3 to 5 minutes until they come out nice and crispy on top.

Mountain Lakes Snacks Never Forgets Our Front Line Workers “I want to thank my community and my family for being such a strong support in my cause.”

Kayla Lee Class of 2022, Mountain Lakes High School Academy of Biotechnology Meet Kayla Lee, a junior at Mountain Lakes HS-Academy of Biotechnology and lives in the beautiful town of Mountain Lakes for almost 7 years. Kayla is a varsity swimmer, a math tutor and a lifeguard during the summer at the Mountain Lakes Club.

When COVID 19 started to affect New Jersey, Kayla wanted to do something to help our community .She knew that our hospitals needed support as more triage clinics were being set up for COVID. There was very little I could do in terms of providing our healthcare professionals with PPE with the national shortage, but she knew she could supply the hospitals with non-perishable nourishments.

She started by collecting snacks from my neighbors to distribute at our closest hospital. Within a month, a grass root group called Mountain Lakes Snacks was born. Today, she delivers to three hospitals, the NJ Firemen’s Home and our local police departments.

Mountain Lakes Education Foundation Launches Capital Campaign

We all know that the 2020/2021 school year is like no other before. Students and teachers are relying on technology to bridge the gap between in-person and online lessons every minute of every day.

To kick off the campaign, the MLEF is raffling off a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLA - 250. This sporty SUV is fun to drive and features advances in innovation while adhering to its family values.

The Mountain Lakes School District (MLSD) has asked the Mountain Lakes Educational Foundation (MLEF) to give our students the tools they need to succeed in this environment, in the form of a much-needed technological infrastructure upgrades and a Virtual Desktop Interface to be deployed throughout MLHS, Briarcliff Middle School and Wildwood Elementary School.

Each raffle ticket costs $200 and only 500 tickets will be available for sale. Information about where to purchase as well as rules can be found at www.mledfoundation.com.

The MLSD is asking for $130,000 to make this infrastructure upgrade a reality. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the MLEF was already able to give $70,000 to launch this program, but we need $60,000 more to fully fund it. We’re calling this campaign “The Drive to Excellence.”

It’s time to Connect! Introducing Connector Street…

If you are like me, you have been at home for far too long and Zoom has become a constant companion. You meet people in person only occasionally, and conferences are a distant memory. The Pre-COVID methods for finding new clients and collaborators are long gone. So, what do we do instead? How do we expand our networks in a time of isolation? How do we make connections when our masks get in the way?

Making introductions and referrals is critical to expanding your network. but the act of making the introduction shouldn’t be onerous.

It can be easy, quick and fun!

The answer is straightforward, and your network holds the key. Every person whom you know, knows hundreds of others. They are connected by alumni networks, social media platforms, and family ties. Send out the bat signal, and they will jump to action.

County College of Morris Presents “The Laramie Project” The Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies Department at County College of Morris (CCM) will be presenting the powerful drama, “The Laramie Project” written

by Moises Kaufman, on Thursday, November 19, and Friday, November 20, at 7:30 p.m. in its Dragonetti auditorium.

Directed by Professor Michael Donahue, of Hopatcong, tickets for the college’s production are free with limited seating. Tickets can be ordered by visiting http://www3.ccm.edu/campuslife/Shows/EnterPassword.asp using the password: Laramie.

“The Laramie Project” is set in and around Laramie, Wyoming, in the aftermath of the murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard, who was beaten, tied to a post and left to die in a field because he was gay. To create the stage version of “The Laramie Project,” the New York-based Tectonic Theatre Project traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, recording hours of interviews with the town’s citizens over a two-year period, using the actual words from

the transcripts to create a portrait of a town forced to confront itself.

The CCM cast plays multiple characters in this production and includes Carlos Angel, of Byram; Emily Steele, of New Milford; Zachary Weiner, of Flanders; Christine Del Vecchio, of Dover; Alix Grossman, of Morris Plains; Nicole Rodgers of Pompton Plains; Jessica Sconfienza, of West Milford; Eric Tayler, of Succasunna; Jason Thompson, of Belvidere; Alyssa Hopkins, of Belvidere; Mark Carovale, of Wharton; and Viviana Wadleigh of Rockaway.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this production of “The Laramie Production” has been condensed to one hour with no intermission. Masks must be worn at all times.

New Member Needed: Mountain Lakes Recreation Commission The Mountain Lakes Recreation Commission’s mission is to offer quality, affordable, and diverse recreational and cultural programs to the residents of Mountain Lakes of all ages and abilities.

The Commission consists of nine members that are appointed by the Borough Council.

If you are interested in being considered for membership on the Mountain Lakes Recreation Commission, please submit your name and qualifications to the Borough Clerk, Cara Fox. Her email address is clerk@mtnlakes.org. You can mail her your request to Mountain Lakes
