Park Theatre For those relishing the lighter side of things, there are lashings of laughter in store including the World Premiere of John Misto’s exceptional comedy Madame Rubinstein, which I’m thrilled to be directing with a superb cast including Miriam Margolyes.

The last few months have seen some exciting changes among our team.

I am delighted to welcome Rachael Williams as our new Executive Director and Dawn James in the new role of Sales and Marketing Manager.

Before the paint is dry on the stage of the first show in the season we will have switched to new, more powerful box office software enabling an even easier online booking process for you. Furthermore, we are making significant improvements to our phone system, meaning more calls answered quicker than ever. Finally, having successfully piloted our first ever relaxed, parents & babies and captioned performances in 2016, we are now introducing audio described and dementia friendly performances to offer a full programme of accessible performances throughout the season.

I hope you enjoy looking through this brochure and reading about

the upcoming productions on our stages as well as the creative learning activities on offer. Do remember to arrive early for some food and drink in our in-house café bar – and should you have any special requirements or like to book a table please contact our Café Bar Manager Tom Bailey directly (details on page 26).

We’re always striving for improvements and most of the time our constraints are purely financial.

As a charity with no public subsidy we’re only able to keep our doors open through generous donations. Whether donating £2 with your ticket, becoming a Friend or indeed supporting us in any way, you’ll be making a real difference.

Two endearing and quirky characters living in a scrapyard on the fringes of society have their lives turned upside down when the discovery of a tiny baby catches them by surprise. Where did it come from? Is it a gift from above or did it get washed down the river? And, uh… does it come with a manual?!

Step into the strange and murky world of Mr Pharaoh and his daughter and join these loveable vagrants as they grapple with their new routine.

Ticket Collection We aim to operate a paperless system so all tickets are emailed directly to you.

Displaying this email on a smart phone/tablet, or presenting a print-out will gain you access to the auditorium. If you require tickets to be printed at the venue a 25p charge per ticket will apply at the time of booking and you should arrive 30 mins before the performance to collect.

Refunds, Exchanges and Returns We do not offer any refunds.

Exchanges may be available at least 24 hours prior to the performance and would incur a £2.00 administration fee per ticket.

Ticket Touting Ticket touting is not permitted and tickets bought via unauthorised agents will be voided. We strongly advise customers to only purchase tickets via authorised channels.

Facilities and Access Our aim at Park Theatre is to be a welcoming and inclusive venue for everyone.

There are wheelchair spaces for each performance and accessible toilets with baby changing facilities. Scripts and cast lists are available in large print on request.

There is an infra-red hearing loop system in both Park200 and Park90. Please ask a member of front of house staff if you require a headset.

We are a dog-friendly building and assistance dogs are welcome in both Park200 and Park90. Please request an aisle seat when you book.

Our new programme of access performances includes: Captioned These have a caption unit onstage operated to simultaneously display anything spoken or sung onstage, as well as information on sound effects and music. Captioning can be useful when strong accents are used or for people who speak English as a second language, as well as for Deaf and hard of hearing audiences.

Audio Described These provide an audio description delivered live in-between dialogue which can be picked up through headsets for people who are visually impaired. A Touch Tour before the performance offers an opportunity to explore the set and costumes and to meet the cast.

With adjustments to lighting and sound levels, and a relaxed attitude to noise and moving around the auditorium during the play. A chill out zone will also be provided for anyone who wishes to take time out during the performance.

Park Players Reminiscence: A 10 week course for those affected by dementia and their carers. Led by specialist teachers who use drama techniques, reminiscence therapy and social time to create a performance.

10 week course Spring term: 23 Jan → 27 Mar Summer term: 24 Apr → 26 Jun FREE One Story, Our Voice: Voices of the Displaced: A 17 week project aimed at local migrants living in Finsbury Park who want to share their story, learn key skills in storytelling, theatre making, building confidence and team work. In collaboration with You Press. This very exciting course culminates in a family friendly performance in Park200.

16 week project Wednesdays 18.30 → 21.00 Morris Space Starts 11 Jan FREE Performance: 7 May at 17.00 and 19.30 in Park200 (Tickets £8 / conc. £5) Please find us under Other Events on our website.

Teen Week: A fun filled week with five intensive sessions for ages 13 to 18 (split into three age groups). Ideal for young people and students bursting to let their imagination and voices be heard.

Storybook Playtime: For crawlers to walkers. Journey into Francesca Simon’s story What’s That Noise? through drama play, with cuddly toys, song, sound, movement and plenty of sensory materials.

R Half Term Once Upon a Time at Park Theatre: A week long puppetry workshop in myths, legends and fairytales for ages 2 – 12 and their grownups! The week will culminate in an all-day family festival on Sun 19 Feb including workshops in puppetry, drama, storytelling and physical theatre as well as an adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s King Arthur and an audience Q&A with the author himself!

Picnic Play: A summer holiday weeklong workshop for ages 9 to 13, where the students create their own play in a week and learn theatre techniques in mind, body and voice. Family and friends performance on the last day of the course.

21 → 26 Aug Week: £55

R Schools, Colleges and University Groups Interactive Tours and Workshops are tailored for primary, secondary, college and university students. Journey through the building, ask questions and take a sneak peek at the backstage areas.

Combine your tour with a Performance or Technical Workshop and hone personal and team-working skills.

Set within the award-winning Park Theatre, our café bar is fast becoming one of north London’s most exciting, vibrant hangouts. The menus change daily, we have two for one cocktails during our 17.00–18.00 happy hour and you never know who you might bump into!

We serve a wide range of food and drink including a selection of breakfast pastries, baps and a build-your-own breakfast board. With regular specials and delicious sharing boards plus vegan and gluten free options, we cater to all tastes.

Located across two floors we welcome an eclectic crowd of theatregoers, artists, students, business folk and locals from morning ’til night. Whether you’re looking for a quiet cup of tea whilst checking your emails, grabbing a freshly ground take-away coffee, having a business lunch or even dinner with friends, we pride ourselves on providing great quality and service. Remember for every coffee, drink or meal you buy, a portion of the proceeds goes back to supporting Park Theatre.

Tube Finsbury Park is located on the Victoria and Piccadilly lines. Please note that the Wells Terrace exit from Finsbury Park Station is closed. To reach us you will need to come out of the Station Place exit, turn left under the bridge on Stroud Green Road, then take the second left into Morris Place.

Park Theatre is at the end of Morris Place. Please allow an extra 4 minutes for your journey. The Victoria Line is part of the new 24 hour night tube service on Friday and Saturday nights.

Train Mainline services run through Finsbury Park including several routes from Moorgate and King's Cross stations.

Bus Daily buses in operation: 4, 19, 29, 106, 153, 210, 236, 253, 254, 259, W3, W7 Night buses in operation: N19, N29, N253, N279 Visit → tfl.gov.uk if you require any assistance with your journey planning.
