As I reflect on the past school year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the remarkable accomplishments of our students From achieving academic success and overcoming obstacles to successfully matriculating to top-tier schools, from sharing about a favorite stuffie during circle time to writing a personal narrative to share with classmates and parents, from leading chapel services to creating artwork that adorns our walls, from engaging in community service projects to demonstrating perseverance, kindness and a heart for others – all of these achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students.

You’ll find these accomplishments highlighted in the pages that follow You will also get a glimpse of how your generous support of Park Street School contributes to the vibrant learning community we cherish Your contribution of time, talent, and treasure directly impacts our students’ growth and development Thank you! Thank you for your partnership which helps us bring our Mission to life each day You are investing in the next generation of leaders!

We are deeply thankful for an incredible year and look forward to continuing our partnership with you to ensure the flourishing of every child at Park Street School

MEASURABLE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Comprehensive Testing Program fifth edition (CTP-5) is an achievement assessment produced by ERB (Educational Records Bureau). The CTP is a summative assessment of learning achievement and provides grade level results in seven different categories related to math, reading, writing, vocabulary and reasoning skills.

Its purpose is to identify the academic strengths and challenges of both individual students and groups of students. This enables Park Street School to make informed decisions about curriculum to better serve students.

Independent schools across the country, including local schools, use the CTP-5 to assess student levels of academic achievement. Test scores are norm-referenced, allowing measurement against cohorts in similar high-achieving schools. The following graphs illustrate four years of comparative analysis for a cohort of students between 2021-2024.

CELEBRATING ABOVE-AVERAGE SCORES & GROWTH IN ALL AREAS

SCORES

COMPARISON:

4-year comparison of this PSS cohort vs. nationwide peer independent schools

The blue line represents mean scores of PSS students beginning in Grade 3 and following them through to Grade 6

The purple line represents peer students from independent schools in corresponding grades.

Vocabulary scores reflect three years rather than four because testing in this topic begins in Grade 4

DEVELOPING A HEART FOR OTHERS

At Park Street School, the mission centers on nurturing not only academic excellence but also the growth of compassion and character. Developing a heart for others is a core aspect of this mission, as it emphasizes the importance of empathy, kindness, and service. In this way, developing a heart for others becomes more than a slogan—it's a way of life that empowers students to make meaningful contributions, creating a ripple effect of kindness and understanding that extends far beyond the classroom.

There are no charts to measure a heart for others, but pictures of students partnering with organizations and deepening their heart for others by: collecting food for local food pantries, packing snacks for homeless ministries, writing notes of encouragement and thankfulness to our community helpers, creating care packages for homeless shelters, organizing awareness and fundraisers for organizations providing clean water and basic resources for children facing housing insecurity, and so much more.

The page that follows is a glimpse of some of the projects and service performed by our students.

FAQ

WHAT DOES MY GIFT TO THE PSS FUND DO?

Every gift equips, empowers, and enables each student, faculty, and staff member, in every classroom, every day! That’s because the PSS Fund covers the approximately 10% of expenses not covered by tuition.

Therefore, your gift to the PSS Fund helps the school:

Attract and retain skilled and dedicated teachers and support their professional development.

Provide enriching curriculum resources, state-ofthe-art technology, music, art, drama and field trips.

Offer tuition assistance for qualified students

Maintain our beautiful and historic Beacon Hill facilities.

Ensure a socioeconomically and geographically diverse student body.

WHEN IS MY GIFT TO THE PSS FUND USED?

Every dollar raised this year is used to create the full Park Street School educational experience in this same year. The PSS Fund is for this current school year and the gift you give now goes to work right now.

FAQ

WHY DOES THE PSS FUND EXIST?

Like most independent schools, tuition doesn’t cover all of the expenses. And that’s on purpose. By design, tuition is set at a level that keeps Park Street School within reach to a broader spectrum of Boston families. But, that also means we ’ re dependent on the generosity of our community to cover about 10% of our operating expenses.

HOW CAN I GIVE TO THE PSS FUND?

In addition to gifts of checks, cash or online, we accept gifts of stock. We also love when our donors arrange to have their gifts matched through their company ’ s matching gift program. That’s extra financial support for PSS for very little effort!

HOW ELSE CAN I GET INVOLVED?

We love it when everyone joins! Our strong community is one of the most often cited among the reasons people love Park Street School, so much.
