Low Cost/No Cost Recreation At Oliver Parks and Recreation we don’t want to see anyone left out. To assist with being able to participate in programs there are a few financial assistance options available.

Anyone Can Join

Anyone Can Join is a sponsorship program supported by local organizations like the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #97 and the Oliver Elks to provide financial assistance to Oliver/Area “C” children, youth and adults towards registration into recreation programs of their choice, up to $150 per person per calendar year. Families or individuals in need of assistance are asked to complete and submit an application form at the Oliver Community Centre. Each form is reviewed in confidence by the Recreation Supervisor and applicants are registered directly into the program using funds provided by sponsors.

JumpStart

Who we fund is simple: Kids. Kids who want to get active. Kids who want to learn a new sport or activity. Kids who want to keep up with a sport or activity they already enjoy. But these kids just need a little extra financial help to get their name on the roster. Kids aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca

Spirit of the Game The Spirit of the Game Society was established to help families in Oliver and Osoyoos. A non-profit organization with a volunteer board, the Spirit of the Game Society is structured to deliver 100% of all donations to providing league fees and covering equipment costs. It does this by working with generous partners and organizing annual funding events. www.sotgsociety.com Anyone Can Join applications are available at the Oliver Parks and Recreation Office. Spirit of the Game and Jumpstart applications are available on their respective websites.
