Nancy Ann & Ray Hunt followed their challenge grant of $3 million with an additional $2 million gift, bringing their total campaign giving to $5 million.

As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Gene E. Phillips Activity Center grand opening, the Limitless campaign continues to gain momentum. Thanks to Parish community members like you, we have never been so close to realizing the vision of a new Performance & Community Center. Together, these facilities will provide versatile spaces where our students can pursue their passions and limitless futures. $6 million goal exceeded in 2017–18.

Thanks to the 83 leadership donors who gave $25,000 or more last school year, we met Nancy Ann & Ray Hunt’s generous challenge grant of $3 million. Many of these campaign donations and pledges were from families making their first-ever leadership gi to Parish.

Kathy & Tim Eller have added a gift of $1.5 million to the $1 million gift they made in 2016, bringing their campaign contributions to a total of $2.5 million.

In a demonstration of remarkable commitment to the Parish community, two families have given for the second time to the Limitless campaign: Nancy Ann & Ray Hunt and Kathy & Tim Eller.

Our goal is to recruit 200 pilots – families, organizations and individuals who believe in Parish’s capacity to launch students to Limitless futures. These 200 leadership givers of $25,000 or more∗ will keep us on pace and moving toward the final leg of our journey to a new Performance & Community Center in 2020.

THE PERFORMANCE & COMMUNITY CENTER

REIMAGINING TODAY’S CAMPUS

The Performance & Community Center (PACC) will elevate the arts at Parish and enrich our community. In addition to providing a setting for students to demonstrate their talents, the PACC will host community events for all grade levels and attract top-tier speakers and performers to our campus.

The goal of the Limitless campaign is to open up new possibilities for our School and our students. The most prominent realization of this vision will be new facilities where students can explore the arts and activities. But, as dance, theatre and other classes and programs move to new spaces, there are opportunities to reinvent spaces in our current buildings.

• A Performance Hall with a permanent proscenium stage and flexible seating for 600 • A new Black Box Theater for more intimate performances • Professional-grade technical features, including optimized acoustics, a control room with the latest light/ sound equipment, a scene shop and storage • A Lobby to host pre-event receptions

One example is the current Band Room on the Midway Campus. Members of the Band will have a new dedicated space in the Performance & Community Center for rehearsals, as well as a separate storage room. This will leave the current Band Room vacant – but full of potential.

• Dedicated spaces for a Dance Studio and Band Room • Backstage spaces, including a Green Room and Dressing Rooms • A Gallery Hall to display students’ and visiting artists’ works

Michelle Lyon, Assistant Head of School, recently brainstormed with other faculty to begin generating ideas for the space. Here are a few ideas they discussed, but the possibilities are, as we like to say at Parish, limitless.

• A flexible space with movable walls and tables to accommodate meetings and collaboration • An in-the-round lecture hall for class meetings, ParishBridge and more

Performance, dance and music teach collaboration, empathy and so skills that can’t be measured by any classroom test. Skills developed in the arts truly provide life preparation.”

POSSIBILITIES ACTIVATED Multiply 24,000 new square feet of flexible space by 166 days of school. That equals exponential growth in activity!

25 gym classes weekly 7 athletic practices weekly 2-3 games weekly 18 arts performances 28 arts rehearsals 2 nationally acclaimed speakers 3 major robotics tournaments

Speakers. The Parish community heard from two nationally acclaimed speakers in the Phillips Activity Center: Barbara Pierce Bush, co-founder and board chair of the Global Health Corps, and Julie LythcottHaims, New York Times best-selling author of How to Raise an Adult.

STEM. Parish hosted three robotics tournaments, including the FIRST LEGO© League North Texas Regional Championship.

Athletics. More teams practiced and competed with a home court advantage last year thanks to added space in the Phillips Activity Center.

Events. Parish students and their families enjoyed a spacious new setting for events like the 2nd and 3rd Grade Carnival.

Community. Adults have fun, too! Parents, grandparents and alumni came together for gatherings like Bingo Night, Homecoming and Parish’s Inaugural 10-year Reunion (above).

Home advantage STAGING THE ARTS IN THE PHILLIPS ACTIVITY CENTER With the opening of the Phillips Activity Center, we have a new place to highlight PARISHarts. Before, many performances required a trek to an off-campus, rented location. Now, students have the experience of performing on campus at Parish.

While a temporary location until the new Performance & Community Center is

built, the Phillips Activity Center provides student performers a taste of what is to come: a stage large enough for flying leaps, more time for on-stage rehearsals, hightech sound and lights to spotlight talent, and the joy of performing for friends and family on your home campus.
