two campuses, one community.
Dear Friends and Supporters of Parish Episcopal School,
As I reflect on the 2024-2025 school year, what stands out most is the strength of our community. The generosity and spirit of giving shown by our families, alumni, faculty and friends is what makes our school so remarkable. Together, you have created opportunities that enrich the lives of every student, from our youngest learners to our graduating seniors.
This report is more than a record of gifts – it is a testament to a community that cares deeply, gives generously and believes wholeheartedly in the transformative power of education. I am humbled and grateful to be part of such a vibrant and supportive school family.
Thank you for all you do to sustain and strengthen our mission. Our school is thriving because of you.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dr. Matthew J. Rush
Allen Meyer Family Head of School
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to extend my deepest thanks for the generosity you have shown this year. Our school is stronger because of the enduring commitment of families, alumni, faculty and friends who give so selflessly of their time, talent and resources. The philanthropic spirit of this community is both humbling and inspiring. Your support ensures that our students are challenged, nurtured and empowered to discover their fullest potential. Just as importantly, it reflects a shared belief in the mission and future of our school.
It is a privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated community, and I am profoundly grateful for all you do to sustain and advance this extraordinary place. With appreciation,
Mike Villa Chair, Parish Episcopal School Board of Trustees

STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES
Parish Episcopal School’s finances remained strong and stable for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. This financial strength provides both resilience in today’s uncertain business climate and a solid foundation as we move forward with ambitious new initiatives.
Mark Kirkpatrick Chief Financial Officer
For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, the return on the Parish Episcopal School Endowment Fund (the “Fund”) was 9.9% compared to 11.7% for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The Fund distributed $810,733 toward the School’s operating budget in fiscal 2025.
The purpose of the Fund is to provide liquidity in support of the School’s ongoing operations and to provide financial stability to the School. The Fund is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors (the “Endowment Board”) who are recommended, elected and approved, on a rolling basis, to serve three-year terms. These directors offer a wide variety of professional skills that provide insight and direction regarding the Fund’s policies, strategies and investments. The Fund files an annual Form 990 reporting operating results and assets held, which are consolidated with the School’s assets for purposes of the annual audit.
The investment return is based on the necessity of focusing on long-term, risk adjusted returns with a pre-established range of investment assets’ portfolio limits. To that end, our investment funds are managed by Truist, the Endowment’s outside chief investment officer (“OCIO”). In keeping with the Board’s governance strategy to review investment partnerships every five years, the Board is currently managing a full process to review the Endowment’s OCIO.
The real estate in front of the School between Sigma Road and Midway Road is part of the overall Endowment portfolio. The donated land is currently used as a soccer field and provides space for future expansion.
The chart illustrates the allocation of the current investment portfolio.
As of June 30, 2025
Equity
13,119,820 2,464,452 6,444,931 884,624 1,385,142 24,298,969 3,282,670 27,581,639
Over the past 13 years, we have seen a steady rise in annual distributions, which have totaled $6.2 million. These distributions support our students, employees and the School community.
We believe the growth of the Fund is strategically critical for the long-term success of the School. The administration, the Endowment Board and the School’s Board of Trustees are working hard to plan for this growth in the days to come. Thank you for your interest in the Fund. Please contact Carrie Burton, Director of Development (cburton@parish.org), if you have an interest in endowment giving or question for how your gift may be used for the benefit of the School.
Sincerely,
Biegel Macaraeg
2024-2025 Vice-Chair, Endowment Board 2025-2026 Chair, Endowment Board

We give our time and resources to Parish Episcopal School because we believe it’s one of the best investments we can make in our future.
Parish has done an amazing job shaping our son – and so many others – into model citizens with the confidence and independent thinking needed to succeed.
It’s a joy to support a school that shapes minds, builds character and strengthens future generations.
In short, we love Parish.
Class of 2025 Professional Development Fund
In recent years, senior families have generously established endowed funds with their donations to the Senior Gift. Class of 2025 Professional Development Fund was one such fund established by the Class of 2025 Senior Gift. The fund will support the professional development yearly budget for all Parish faculty and staff.
As an alumnus, Reed Standly ‘10 knows firsthand how a student’s experience at Parish is formed not only in the classroom, but outside it as well. As costs rise, so too does the need to increase support for tuition assistance, as well as student supplemental support. This past spring, Reed and his wife Tiffany established Standly Family Fund, which will contribute to the supplemental support budget of financial assistance. The supplemental support annual budget provides for things such as uniforms, books, laptops, calculators, Homecoming and Prom tickets and athletic fees, among other things, to those qualified students receiving financial assistance, in accordance with the policies and practices for supplemental support.
If you or your family are interested in supporting the Parish Endowment, please contact Carrie Burton, Director of Development or any member of the Parish Endowment Board.

It’s hard to believe that we have been a part of the Parish community since 2013. My son and daughter started when they were three years old and now they are teenagers!
Over the years, Parish has helped us raise and educate our children in a loving, safe environment. That’s why it’s so easy for our family to give a little extra each year – to ensure they continue learning in a place that offers the very best opportunities and support.
Sandy & Garrett Vilven Dean '28 & Fiona '30
The Parish Boys Varsity Basketball team, the 2024 6A TAPPS State Champions, were invited to travel to two nationally recognized basketball tournaments during the 2024-2025 school year, one in Las Vegas and one in California. Both tournaments featured some of the best teams in the country, and with college coaches in attendance, our players were able to gain national attention for themselves and Parish. Thanks to annual support to the budget, as well as individual parent support, it was an unbelievable opportunity and experience for our team.
At Parish Episcopal School, we’ve always believed that preparing students to be “life ready” means equipping them with more than just academic knowledge. It means developing their independence, responsibility, collaboration and decision-making. This year, thanks to generous support from the Parish Fund annual campaign, we were able to deepen that commitment in ways we hadn’t before.
One of the most impactful additions was the ability to implement the DESSA (Devereux Student Strengths Assessment) for all Kindergarten through 4th-grade students. For the first time, we were able to use a research-based, strengths-focused tool to assess social-emotional learning (SEL) skills at a grade-wide level. Questions like “How often did the child work well in groups?” or “How often did the child keep trying when unsuccessful?” gave us real insight into students’ self-awareness, self-management and social skills – insights we now use to tailor classroom activities and support individual student growth.
We also expanded our IMPACT and Parish Leads programming with new curriculum resources and materials, including two new IMPACT books specifically designed for Lower School and hands-on supplies that bring SEL learning to life. These materials made it easier for teachers to lead lessons that build critical life skills, while also allowing students to engage in leadership opportunities through chapel talks, service projects and group activities.
Annual giving even reached into the hearts of our faculty culture. Ten faculty and staff members participated in a three-day summer PETI (Parish Excellence in Teaching Institute) retreat, where they collaborated to design consistent Tier 1 behavior expectations for the entire Lower School.
Teachers and staff also had a half-day PETI retreat which allowed the team to focus on strengthening IMPACT programming for the year ahead. These retreats were made possible by annual giving – and they gave our teachers the time, space and tools to prepare for a year rooted in consistency, connection and purpose.
Lower School parents were also invited to join the learning through a book club, using books funded by annual giving to help foster school-home partnership around social-emotional development.
From new tools and assessments to deeper collaboration and expanded social-emotional learning programming, Parish Fund made it possible for our Lower School faculty to teach, lead and support students in truly transformative ways.
A central topic of professional development during the 2024-2025 school year was artificial intelligence (AI) and ways to use it ethically and effectively in and outside the classroom with our students. All employees participated in a half-day training on the topic and each division regularly discussed tools and methods that were appropriate to utilize in the classroom and with our existing curriculum. Funds from unrestricted gifts given through Parish Fund allowed the training of all faculty as well as technology subscriptions to utilize in the classrooms.

Parish Athletics received several capital improvements during the 2024-2025 school year.
Thanks to a $1,000,000 donation from Fleeger Family Foundation, Gloria H. Snyder stadium received a new, Panther Blue field at the start of the school year. Snyder Stadium’s original blue turf was installed in 2014; with a typical life of about 10 years, punishing Texas summer heat plus high usage by our girls' and boys' athletic teams takes quite a toll on a turf field. The turf was replaced last summer utilizing newer turf technology, resulting in longer and safer usage by our athletes and spirit squads that play and perform on it. Thanks to the Fleeger family’s generous support, the School was able to save the capital expenditure budget money it had planned to use for the turf replacement. In recognition of this charitable support, the field is now known as Fleeger Field at Gloria H. Synder Stadium.
Additionally, the Fleeger family’s donation supported the replacement of the track surrounding the field, which was installed prior to the 2025-2026 school year, as well as needed paint and improvements to the pressbox, Ed’s Snack Shack concession stand and the softball and baseball fields.
The installation of a new, digital scoreboard in Snyder Stadium replaced the one that had been part of the stadium since its inception. Lead donations from Parish Athletic Booster Club and the Bigham family allowed this project to commence, as well as additional leadership support from the Burton, House, Oudt and Shapiro families. The scoreboard has added a new level of excitement for all our Middle and Upper School athletic teams that compete on the field.
Our boys and girls Varsity athletes were welcomed into newly renovated varsity locker rooms this winter. Thanks to a generous, in-kind gift from the Hollman family, the space was elevated into a modern, functional environment that is both durable and beautiful, built to survive the enthusiasm and energy often found in the locker room while enhancing the student-athlete experience and team spirit.
More than a quarter of a million-dollar project, the updated locker room features Hollman’s award-winning, custom design solutions that can also be found in notable professional sports and collegiate locker rooms as well as corporate facilities here in Texas and across the country. The Hollman’s contribution and work completing the space reflects a shared commitment to supporting our athletes both on and off the field.
• Increased Police Presence: Secured the addition of a second officer Monday through Friday from the Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD). This addition ensures full-time coverage across the entire Midway campus footprint, in concert with the already fully-covered Hillcrest campus.
• Ballistic Window Film Installation: Installed protective ballistic film on exterior windows and doors on both campuses to enhance the School’s physical security and delay unauthorized entry during emergencies.
• Security Kiosk on Panther Drive: Added a staffed security kiosk to monitor and manage vehicular traffic, improving visibility and access control for the Midway campus.
• Expanded Campus Safety Team: Increased the Campus Safety staff by adding two new team members, enhancing daily patrol coverage and emergency response capabilities.
• Parking Decals: Introduced a standardized parking decal system for students and employees, streamlining campus vehicle identification and enforcement.
• Lockdown Window Shades: Installation of lockdown shades for all classroom and office doors that can be pulled quickly to block the line-of-sight into classrooms and offices in the event of a lockdown emergency. When not in an emergency situation, lockdown shades remain in their open position, pulled up, so that all classrooms and offices are visually accessible per our security policies.
• Additional Cameras: Installed additional cameras to both Midway and Hillcrest campuses to improve coverage.
• Rekeyed Hillcrest Campus: We were able to rekey the Hillcrest campus to ensure that EMS would have one key to gain access to all rooms on campus during an emergency response.
• Central Plant Upgrades - Cooling tower refurbishment & refrigerant alarm upgrade
• Pearlman Family Conference Center remodel
• New kitchen oven

PARISH EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE & PHILOSOPHY
As Dr. Matt Rush, Allen Meyer Family Head of School, began his second year at Parish last year, he recognized the need for Parish leadership to better articulate the School’s Educational Philosophy. With underwriting support from Joy and Steve Hall, alongside the dedication of our team and community, we were able to begin this project in earnest. This past May, Dr. Rush shared the results of a year-long process that involved most every constituency of our community: faculty, staff, parents, alumni, Board of Trustees, and most importantly, our students. The School partnered with The Purpose Institute to clearly define our philosophy as well as how it will live on at Parish. What ultimately emerged through the year-long conversations, focus groups and interviews, were three key components of human development at which Parish excels: preparing students, fueling their passion and helping them develop a principled lifestyle. In the end, students leave Parish prepared to navigate life’s challenges, passionate about pursuits that make life meaningful and principled, with a strong moral compass to guide them. All of this unfolds in a caring and connected community, shaped by a culture of belonging, balance and joy.
Parish’s school-wide Marin Luther King Jr. assembly in January was a beautiful and meaningful event that honored Dr. King’s legacy through the theme of Hope, Resilience and Kindness. Previously donated restricted funds allowed the School to bring in speaker Andrea L. Taylor, who attended the historic March on Washington at age 16, as well as the African dance and drumming company, Bandan Koro. Our youngest to oldest learners were able to connect with Dr. King’s vision in ways that felt meaningful and relevant to them, making the assembly a true celebration of community and growth.
In May, students and families from across the Parish community came together at the African American Senior Heritage Reception to honor the senior Class of 2025. Thanks to a donation from an anonymous donor, the event participants were able to gather for lunch and celebrate the accomplishments of the African American class of 2025. Staff, alumna and chosen students spoke at the event, which included conferring the inaugural Sankofa Senior Award for leadership, resilience, impact and legacy.
We thank the following donors for each of their cumulative leadership support of $10,000+ during the 2024-2025 school year:
