My writing has changed in a few ways since the beginning of this class. I wouldn't go so far as to say I like to write but it is not as much of a challenge anymore. While it is still a challenging thing it is nowhere near as hard to do as it was. Being in this class I have become more aware of the mistakes in grammar I make. While I am still not great with grammar I have gotten better. Being part of awriting group has helped me in more ways than just developing my writing, but in being more confident. I am more confident in reading my writings out loud as well is being able to talk about myself.

Having feedback from multiple people is a hard thing to understand at times. I have gotten feedback from Mrs. Brantley that contradicts what my writing group tells me. Deciding which one to use is never an easy thing, because while I like the feedback of both it is hard to decide which one will help my essay more. Much of my feedback from my peers is very useful, and I use it to further enhance my essays. As in "Cut What or Whom" I made my essay less chronological by taking the anecdote from Junior High and putting it as the introduction. I took suggestive feedback from Mrs. Brantley and put it in my essay to make it better. When coming up with ideas for an essay I enjoy using the prompts that Mrs. Brantley gives because they help a little, but in the end I tend to just start writing. I look at my computer waiting for an idea to come to mind. After stressing to try to come up with an essay idea it will finally come to me, and I just start writing. Sometimes I will write out multiple paragraphs and realize that there is no way I can actually create an essay with with the topic I have chosen and then I will start over. Many times the writing exercises that we do in class start off the percolating of ideas, that will end up becoming my essay.
Reading short stories and segmented essays has really helped with my writing as well. In the beginning I thought paragraphs absolutely had to be five to eight sentences and formatted in one exact way. Reading the essays by people like Sherman Alexie have helped me realize that essays don't have to look the same. I can have paragraph that are only two sentences. I thought Get
75–100% of schools in 42 states start before 8:30 and only 17.7% start at 8:30 or later. After school sports times will change because of the later start time. People will go to sleep later and complain just like they do now so it won't matter if we change the start time. Some kid's parents go to work early in the morning so they won't have anyone to take them to school. East Porter County School Corporation shouldn't change their start time for the 2016–2017 school year. After school sports times will change because of the later start time. We are already late to the games so it will make us more late to the school far away so we won't have any time to warm–up. I know from personal experience that it takes a while to get to our games when we have to wait for the bus to finish it's rout. Practice would go on for too long so then we won't have time for practice. It takes 3–4 hours to do our homework each day and practice goes on for usually 2 hours a day. The might say that "It's their own fault that they won't go to sleep earlier." But if they don't want to go to bed earlier then they should not complain at school that they are tired. Then they might say "But, maybe their homework is keeping them awake." Then they should have done it earlier and if they have after school extracurriculars then they have to make time for homework instead. On average a normal person get's 6 hours and 27 minutes of sleep, that is not enough time for sleep because a healthy amount of sleep is 8–9 hours. Prior to completing Skip Downing's "On Course Self Assessment," I was starting to realize one of my most sabotaging behaviors. I find it incredibly difficult to say a three–word phrase. When it comes to assisting others, I have no problem lending a helping hand, but I cannot tell anyone that "I need help." In writing this paper I hope to recognize the roots of my problem and adopt a plan to aid me in overcoming this negative behavior. After I took the self–assessment and received a low score in the area of interdependence, I began considering options for overcoming my hesitation so that I may become a successful student. The first strategy is to learn that I cannot do everything by myself. Typically, I never ask for...show more content...
We cannot know everything, and we can all benefit from mutual helping relationships. I may need someone to explain something discussed in Psychology class today and that person may need the favor returned for English. Working together and helping others is important in almost every area of life. I do not need to feel ashamed for reaching out first. As a result of doing the assessment, I realized that I seldom request and often reject offers of assistance. A successful student would employ interdependence by actively seeking out mutually supportive relationships to help achieve their goals and dreams, while doing the same for others in return. I chose this topic because I do not want to be a struggling student! Interdependence is a key factor in being successful in college. In order to obtain a degree a college student must do well in all areas of their studies. To accomplish that, he or she must comprehend the subject matter taught and apply what they learn. If a student does not understand something and refuses to ask for help when it is readily available, they are only hurting themselves. Three little words can make all the difference. By asking someone who is more knowledgeable than they may be in a certain area, they could find the missing pieces that lead to total understanding. This will enable them to perform better on my assignments and to keep moving forward towards that college degree. College can be an

My Writing
In the past four years, I have written many papers for various classes, enjoying some and others having to choke out words to write down. In this memo I will describe my writing projects and how they made me become a better writer, and how they will continue to help develop me into a becoming a more prosperous writer.

What I Really Learned in English 100
Well as a recent pupil of the Great McFadden I want to do all that I can to be on his good side, for he said that if I go one mile to meet him, he will go two miles to meet me, which seems more that fair. As an assignment I am told that I have to write what I learned in English 100 and how that it prepared me for English 200. Well sincehonesty is the best way of...show more content... Having taken many writing classes I have learned many things about writing. I enjoy writing and can often write many pages about things that I am interested in. I know that I have more learning to do about writing, and hopefully in the next couple weeks my knowledge of writing will have expanded and my writing will have improved.
My Experience With Writing Arguments
I am unaware of any writing arguments. The only thing I can really think of is writing a research paper with the intent to change people's minds on a certain subject. I remember researching for weeks in the library, looking through magazine after magazine. I had searched for enough information to write a ten–page paper. The writing process of the paper took several weeks but when I had finished, all the hard work was worth the effort. I learned many things from that course such as that you need to search for all the information you can because it is better to have too much information than not enough. Also that course taught me many things about making references to the authors of the articles I used for my paper. I remember writing out note card after note card and keeping all the necessary information about each book or magazine. That course taught me to become a better writer and to respect how much detail really goes into a research paper like I had written. Other than that, I have not
There are three very important aspects that play a major rule in my life. They can be categorized as intellectual, social, and spiritual. My intellectual self is interesting because I am mainly right–brained which means that I tend to use my creativity more than my mathematical skills, also making me a visual learner. My social self consists of friends, family, and my surroundings. I spend most of my time at home with my family. Whenever I am with my friends, I observe their behaviors and listen to their opinions. I am more of an independent type of person. Being with different people has influenced me into appreciating different cultures and beliefs. I have learned things that have now been incorporated into my own set of beliefs and...show more content...
I find that I can only recall long–term memories if they are important to me, or if they are dramatic experiences. A few examples of my childhood memories are my mother reading to me, my grandfather playing his guitar, and my dad relentlessly teaching me how to ice skate, no matter how many times I fell. The people who affect my social life the most are my family and friends. I have an extremely close family that has played a major role in my life. They are whom I spend most of my spare time with. My family usually gathers every weekend for dinner. I am also very open to different religions, cultures, and practices because I know many people with different backgrounds and beliefs. Since I've been influenced by various people, I've learned at a very young age to never judge people by how they look, dress, feel, or act. I am very fortunate to have learned these lessons, because many people still do not understand the importance of accepting differences. In a group, I prefer to listen to what others have to say, and then contribute to the discussion. I try to listen so I am able to compare them to my own thoughts. I enjoy working in a group, because it gives everyone an opportunity to incorporate their own ideas. My social self is most greatly influenced by my family and friends. I believe that my spiritual self is the most important out of the three. Although I have a certain religion that I belong to and practice, I believe in a bit of

I'm living a healthy life in most aspects. Fist of all I keep healthy eating habits. I seldom skip breakfast during my weekdays so that I'm energetic for my classes everyday. I always plan my breakfast the day before, such as bagels or eggs. Breakfast is important so I try to make it fresh and delightful. Sometimes I drink tea instead of coffee. Black tea is my favorite because caffeine in it is lower than green tea or coffee. I always feel too excited after drinking coffee. I feel my heart beating faster than usual and my hands may even shake. Usually I don't eat a lot at night, especially before sleeping. This keeps my stomach healthy and prevents me from getting weight. I prefer eating healthier food rather than fast food such as burgers and fries. Sushi or other Asian dishes are always my dinner. They are light and balanced innutrition, and good for my digest system. However, as a college student, I have some unhealthy behaviors which are common between me and my friends. The first one is, I always sleep after 12:00 am at night and it can be later during the weekends. As a result of sleeping late at night, sometimes it is hard for me to get up early in the morning. On the weekends I always wake up after 11:00 am. This is very unhealthy because I skip my breakfast and also my biological changes. I have to get used to the healthy routine again every Monday. Another bad behavior is that I seldom do any exercises. I used to do it for few times every week, but later I
