NORMAL FLOW FOR LOGGING INTO THE ULTRANET
Step 0. Set up complex 7 password if needed www.eduweb.vic.gov.au/password
Step 1. Go to IDAM first use and put in your latest edumail username and password idam.education.vic.gov.au/firstuse (Make sure you are on the Vicsmart network – you need to be on a school computer to access IDAM first use)
Wait 5 – 10 Minutes
Note. If you subsequently change your edumail password after you have logged into Ultranet, your new edumail password will automatically flow through to Ultranet
Step 2. Login to the Ultranet using the username and password from Step 1.

Cause 1. User has not entered the correct password
User to put in correct password
Cause 2. User has not gone through IDAM first use
User to go through IDAM first use (idam.education.vic.gov.au/firstuse), wait 5-10 minutes, then login to Ultranet

ERROR 2 User is at idam.education.vic.gov.au/firstuse and sees the following screen
Cause: User is not on the Vicsmart network
User to ensure they are on the Vicsmart network to get onto the IDAM first use website Check by seeing whether user can get to staff address list at https://edugate.eduweb.vic.gov.au/Sea rchCenter/Pages/people.aspx If the user can access this site, they are on Vicsmart and there is another issue. In this case, contact your TSSP or ITD helpdesk: 1800 641 943
ERROR 3 User sees the following on Ultranet
Cause: User is on Firefox, most likely an unsupported version
User to check Firefox version used. Note supported versions below: Internet Explorer 7+ Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6+ Safari 3.22+

Cause: User has not been provisioned properly
Lead User to check for the person using ‘Find People’ in the Ultranet. Page 3

If the person is not found, or is not assigned to the school, check that their Cases21 data is correct: • • • •
Valid payroll rec number Is marked as ACTIVE ACTIVE homegroup or NULL homegroup ACTIVE house or NULL house
Make changes to Cases21 – these will take 24 hours to come through. If the issue is still not resolved, escalate to Ultranet Helpdesk to look at user login. ERROR 5 User sees the following when accessing the Ultranet
Cause: User is on an unsupported version of Internet Explorer
User to check Internet Explorer version used. Note supported browsers are: Internet Explorer 7+ Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6+ Safari 3.22+

ERROR 6 User is displayed the following screen when accessing http:\\idam.education.vic.gov.au/firstuse
Cause: User does not have the correct version of Flash.
User to ensure Flash version Adobe Flash 10.0.45 or greater
