Linking a Google Doc into the Ultranet Go to http://docs.google.com and login with your Google Account (if you don’t have a Google Account, click on the following link to learn how to create one: Word Tutorial) IMPORTANT NOTE: At the time this tutorial was written, all formats of Google Docs except “Presentation” displayed properly.

1. Click on the dropdown list of “Create new” (shown below) and select “Document” 2. Click in the box to rename the document. Name it to something that is relevant to the space you are using so you can find it again, eg. Design‐GVPS‐Gr4‐Maths2010 3. Click on the “Share” dropdown list and select “Sharing settings…”

4. Under Permissions, click on the “Change” hyperlink 5. Select “Anyone with this link” and tick the “Edit access” box. Click “Save” 6. Right click the supplied hyperlink and copy it. Click “Close” OR, while viewing the document, you can right‐click and copy the URL straight from the Address bar on your browser


7. Pass over the pointing finger on the bottom menu and select “Add Application”. Add an iFrame by clicking the Add link beside the application. NOTE: The iFrame is best displayed in a single‐column page layout (use the pointing finger to “Change Layout”)

8. Click the cog on the right‐hand top corner of the iFrame application, and select “Configuration” 9. Click in the “Source URL” box and press Ctrl+V (paste). OPTIONAL: Change the ‘height‐ normal=300’ to ‘height‐normal=600’.

Click “Save” and “Return to Full Page” Your page should now appear something like this… (shown in Google Chrome) TIPS:  At the time this tutorial was written, all formats of Google Docs except “Presentation” display properly  Only have 1 x iFrame per page  Have a page layout of 1 x Column (as shown)
