WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR: STEP #1 15 yrs+ The Water Safety Program prepares you to instruct Red Cross swim lessons. The full course will evaluate strokes and skills equivalent to Red Cross Swim Kids 10. Guides participants through the online portion of the course. Included is the 10 hours teaching experience. The participant will develop the skills and gain the teaching tools to become a swim instructor. Step 2 must be completed to be certified as a Red Cross Swim Instructor. STANDARD FIRST AID WITH CPRC 12 yrs+

STANDARD FIRST AIDRECERTIFICATION 12 yrs+ Standard First Aid is a WorkSafeBC Occupational Level 1 equivalent and can be used in the workplace. Recertification of Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED is achieved by attending an 8 hour Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED Recertification course. Prerequisites Standard First Aid with one of the following agencies: • • • • •

Any Canadian Lifesaving Society Canadian Red Cross St. Johns Ambulance Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada Canadian Ski Patrol

Emergency First Aid is not equivalent to Standard First Aid.

Standard First Aid is a WorkSafeBC Occupational Level 1 equivalent and can be used in the workplace. This course includes comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid, CPR and AED use. Whether you need training for employment or simply want to be prepared to respond to life-threatening emergencies, this course will give you the skills and knowledge to act with confidence. In addition to the material covered in Emergency First Aid, candidates will learn how to treat head/neck injuries, soft tissue and musco-skeletal injuries and medical emergencies.
