HOSPICE LOOKING FOR BAKERS
KEARNEYSVILLE - Hospice of the Panhandle could use a few good bakers to help with its annual Valentine’s Day cookie project. Hospice is looking for volunteers - individuals or groups - who can make anywhere from a two dozen to five dozen homemade cookies. They will need to be dropped off at Hospice’s Kearneysville location - 330 Hospice Lane - on Feb. 13 for delivery on Valentine’s Day. Weekley Learning Center at the James Rumsey Technical Institute offers a variety of free programs to students 17 years of age and older who are out of the public school system. All classes and programs are completely free of charge and are available during both day and evening hours. Some programs available are: TASC preparation (high school equivalency diploma), Math Review, Grammar Review, Computer Tutorials, Basic Study Skills/Vocabulary and Essay Writing, LPN Preparation, and more...more...more! All students are required to attend an orientation session prior to beginning Learning Center programs. Sessions include information and explanation of the center’s programs, class schedules, goat setting and testing and placement appointments. Daytime orientations are held in the Learning Center on the first, third and fifth Monday of each month from 12:00 noon -0 300pm for TASC and Basic/Computer Skills. Evening orientation is held on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00 - 9:00 pm for TASC and Basic Skills/Computer Skills. You must cal to register, before attending.
