Dear Readers, On behalf of all at Panache-E-Magazine, we would like to thank all our readers for your continuing support. This month’s edition, as always, is focussed on positivity; for us as individuals and as a community. However, we recognise that even as our focus is; positivity concerning the BAME community in the UK, in America, the negative attitude of the police towards people of colour is being exposed daily by the use of smart phones and social media. Hopefully things will begin to change with the glare of international scrutiny on a Nation which seeks to categorize itself as the “leader of the free World.” We will also continue to push the message; concerning getting our communities to work together to achieve economic independence. Our aim has always been to encourage our communities to become stronger by creating closer ties between communities across the UK and the Caribbean (Unity is strength). To this end we created the Miss Caribbean UK pageant. (Please visit www. misscaribbeanuk.com to read more).

ack from the amazing NYC and I can't be more grateful, happy and proud!!!!! I have to express how thankful myself (me lol) and The Myself Ladies are, in having the amazing help and support to get us there to represent the UK as strong females! We had a crazy but amazing time and have certainly learnt so much from being in that environment and place!!!! It was a struggle but we made it happen!!! We had such an amazing and lovely response from the audience when performing and priceless feedback afterwards. Not only did we have a successful performance but we did amazingly in the battles we entered, got great knowledge and training in the discussion, classes and even clubs we attended. Had great experiences in places we visited and with the people we met! We could not of done it without the help of you all, I have done my best in writing a list of all the people I've noted down who have helped, supported and/or donated. Sincere apologies if I have missed anyone, I am pretty jet lagged lol But you know its all LOVE! First of all the Myself Ladies who came and believed we could make it there and committed to it happening! I know it wasn't easy but I am so proud of everyone and thank you for pushing to make it happen. • Jazmyn Alicia Raikes • Laura Powney • Georgina Newell • Nicole McDowall • Fern Crosbie

I would like to thank everyone who voted for my song “THIS IS THE MOMENT”. A lot of work went into it. The album launch was held at “The Hootenanny Bar” in Brixton on 31st March and the track; “THIS IS THE MOMENT” was finally released on 8th April 2016 and is now available on all music download sites. I’m a UK reggae artist who has been singing for a long time. I started taking it seriously back in 1987 and took breaks in between. I went into radio presenting, did some modelling, entered loads of pageants and took part in a few fashion shows. I also decided to go into radio presenting and DJ’d at the local radio station; Galaxy Radio for the best part of 12 years. I also present the ‘Soul in Motion’ show at 4-6pm on Saturdays on Lovers Rock Radio. The artsits listed in July’s Sunday Lunch UK Reggae TOP 5 CHART are as follows: 1. MISSING YOU by DONOVAN KINGJAY 2. ROCK ME BABY by SHANDI 3. MY LOVE IS TRUE by DENNIS PINNECK 4. CRYING OVER U by CLAUDE DARROUX 5. FANTASY by TRUE IDENTITY Visit: http://ladytlc.com/ladytlc.com/index2/ index.html to cast your votes!!

UPDATE: The Sunday Lunch & UK Reggae Wednesday UK Showcase Part 2 which took part on Bank Holiday Sunday 1st May'16

Harmonie Deja

Lady TLC and Mista Stylee presented the UK Showcase Part 2 on Bank Holiday Sunday 1st May'16 at the Amersham Arms, New Cross, London. All artists were backed by the Freedom Band and hosted by Allison Mason. The showcase was very successful, building on the success from 31 January 2016, the crowd turnout was phenomenal and the number of artists and also producers that attended was double the attendance that was at part 1.

Second act for the night was Harmonie Deja, what a young and beautiful young lady who took the stage like a naturalist and singing her version to breaking up. The crowd loved it and fully took to her. Since the show she has continued recording songs with Starr vybz entertainment and is currently receiving a lot of airplay and great feedback, the future for her is looking bright and I am sure other promoters will book her for future events. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw8P-cVtNoI

Miss Janet Lee Davis

Jay Jay Born2Sing On the night the show was opened by the man of the moment Jay Jay Born2Sing with an acapella of ‘Amazing Grace’ taken from his debut album. His performance was astonishing and blew the roof off to open a show with that extraordinary. Jay Jay has gone onto further shows and working towards the release of his debut album in October 2016. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ1VSL3uFy8 www.panacheoccasions.com /

Special guest on the night was Miss Janet Lee Davis one of our Lovers Rock/ Reggae singers from the 1990s. Wow what a performance with her new material. Janet has not lost the sensual tones that we remember of her. Her new tracks have been played across the radio airwaves and one is cover track called ‘Just my Imagination’. She had the crowd singing along with her and even rewind called for. She is definitely one of our UK veteran’s.

Winsome Moncrieffe-Mitchell

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1WG9_ mMPgg

Chucky Bantan She is a power house that blew the roof off of Amersham Arms. She is a strong woman that can sing. Winsome is a humble, but prominent feature in the reggae circle. Winsome thrilled the patrons with her euphoric songs on the night. She looked elegant in her black stylish jumpsuit and entertained all. Winsome is part of ‘Family Love’ who is currently recording again together and watch out for brand new material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbtND68IEPQ

What an awesome performance by an unsung artist. He was a mic man in the sound system arena. The performance was remarkable and the surprise collaboration with his brethren ‘Super Fords’ who is blind shocked the listening patrons. Chucky is working now on rising his singing profile to take his singing career to the next level in the reggae music. Currently since the show Chucky has now made links with other promoters and now getting more airplay and recognition in the business. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL3PAgli9C4

Private Collection

Private Collection rocked the Amersham Arms with there big hits like slow down and right direction and had the crowd singing along and fully enjoying the performance. The ladies were fully taking in the performance as for some it took them back in time when lovers rock was the talk of the town. Since the show Private Collection have had great feedback and recently took part in a fundraising event Unity is Strength at the Hootananny, Brixton where they gave another great performance. I am very sure there is more to come from the group as there are more shows in the pipeline.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7IhyZwgZX4

The all artist finale was the classic Dennis Emmanuel Brown classic ‘Love has found its way’. The crowd participation was sounding like a full choir. This showcase was a success following on from the first one in January 2016. The team is planning part 3 for Black History with a twist. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for UK Showcase part 3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79pyORKu1z4

Vivian ‘Sugar Love’ Jones

Vivian Jones well what can we say, some call him the ladies choice and he gave the ladies a night to remember and singing all his hits one after another, not only did he entertain he also showed that after years in the business he is always willing to work with up and coming artists and support events. We were please to have Vivian on this show and the response from the crowd said it all. He was truly amazing. Vivian performed hits such as ‘The Hurt’, ‘Happiness’, Sugar Love, The first, Strong Love and Trial & crosses. www.panacheoccasions.com /

Leisurely days, pleasant afternoons, and joy-filled evenings, a Port Royal patty is ideal at any time of day this sunny season. Our patties have a tasty array of fillings carefully blended with Caribbean spices and a select choice of herbs, all baked in a golden, crispy pocket of light pastry known as the Kingston Crust. The Jamaican patty is the most popular meal and snack in all of the Caribbean, and it’s no wonder why! Whether you want to grab and go, sit and enjoy a picnic, or have a snack at a barbecue, set your summer off with our delightful taste of the Caribbean! You can try adding a touch of jerk sauce for an extra spicy kick or dipping one in some pesto for a hint of nutty flavour, or just simply enjoy it on its own. Gone are the days of winter, and spring has past! Oh, welcome summertime! Enjoy your summer, enjoy Port Royal. #PortRoyalSummer

Horoscope

Horoscope for JULY 2016 If you can manage to control your impatience and free yourself of the burden weighing on your financial and romantic life, you will be able to enjoy a rather calm month where you can recharge your batteries, regain your strength, and maybe even take a little (or a lot) time for dreaming and lounging. Try not to rebel against, but rather make do with, the things that are bothering you instead of stubbornly fighting back. In this way, you will be able to take time to relax between a rainy June and an autumn that promises to be just as unpleasant!

The Law of Attraction

Rhonda Byrne says: Remember that you are a magnet! Appreciation attracts appreciation!

Whenyou need money, it is a powerful feeling within you, and so of course through the law of attraction you will continue to attract needing money. To attract money, you must focus on wealth.

Wheather you have been aware of your thoughts in the past or not, now you are becoming aware. Right now with the knowledge of The Secret, you are waking up from a deep sleep and becoming aware! Your thoughts are seeds, and the harvest you reap will depend on the seeds you plant. Ifyou can think about what you want in your mind, and make that your dominant thought, you will bring it into your life./ www.panacheoccasions.com /
