For a closer look at village life, you will disembark on Thoi Son Island and interact with the locals. Enjoy a leisurely guided walk through Nuuk’s atmospheric Old Town and browse the National Museum to enhance your historical understanding of Greenland’s capital. The Inuits and Vikings lived in this area long before Nuuk became a city, as you will discover through the enlightening exhibits in the National Museum. KING’S GAZE HIKE & TAPAS

Enjoy a hike along a narrow pathway that clings to the face of precipitous El Chorro Gorge. Built in the early 1900s, the trail high above the Guadalhorce River was once considered the world’s most dangerous pathway. After walking the entire length in the 1920s, King Alfonso XIII named it Caminito del Rey, ‘The King’s Little Road’. The trail has been widened and improved to make the trek much safer, but fortunately, the scenery hasn’t changed one iota. Climbing a series of stone steps and walking its wooden bridges and boardwalks an average of 99 metres (325 feet) above the swirling river, will likely be the most exhilarating, adrenaline-pumping hike that you have ever taken.

SKYWALK IN THE FOREST

Walk high above the rainforest floor on the Skywalk, a series of suspended cable bridges in the tree canopy that will present a unique perspective of the surrounding ecosystem. Different animals inhabit different levels of the forest, and you can expect to see monkeys scurrying among the treetops and species of birds such as toucans, motmots and trogons. Even if trogons aren’t present, you will likely observe their nests in the cavities of dead trees. Chances are, you will also spot mammals such as coatis, agoutis and kinkajous moving about on the forest floor below. Along the way, the guide will provide commentary about the flora and fauna and point out highlights such as the marshlands of the Tárcoles River. Later, you will enjoy free time to browse the shops Santa Lucía village.
