The agency Pampa Agency is a literary agency that represents Argentine and Latin American authors. It is conceived to manage, advise, promote and encourage the production of Spanish-speaking authors in other languages of the global market. By doing this, this agency seeks to professionalize the field of aesthetic, essay and literary writing in Latin American countries.
La agencia Pampa Agency es una agencia de representación de autores literarios argentinos y latinoamericanos y está concebida para agenciar, asesorar, promocionar y fomentar la producción de autores de lengua española, en otros idiomas, en el mercado global del libro. Esta agencia busca, al hacer esto, profesionalizar el campo de la producción estética, ensayística y literaria de países de América Latina.

AUTHOR / AUTOR Writer, journalist, and researcher. She is the author of novels, poetry books, chronicles, short stories for children, and essays. She started writing when she was very little. As a cultural journalist she wrote several articles that were published in cultural sections and media of Argentina and Latin America. She is the author of the novels El grito (Emecé-Planeta, 2004; Veracruzana, México, 2011; Eduvim, 2016) and Magic Resort (Emecé-Planeta, 2007; Deriva, Portugal, 2010), also of poetry books as Love song (Buenos Aires Poetry, 2014), Los transparentes (Libros del Rojas, 2000) and Puntos de fuga (Tantalia, 1996). She wrote the children’s book Las siete maravillas del mundo (Estrada-Macmillan, 2005), and the nonfictions: El, ella, ¿Ella? (transexuality research) (Perfil, 1998), Deleuze para principiantes (Era Naciente, 2001), Shhh... lamentables documentos (2002), Literatura latinoamericana para principiantes (Era Naciente, 2003), and El espesor del presente. Criticism has sometimes postulated series or ways of reading Argentine literature through certain axes, such as the last dictatorship or the Malvinas war, within the hypothetical series of “the novels of 2001”. El Grito, Florencia Abbate’s first novel, was the first to appear and it may occupy a central place. Not only because of the temporary allusions to a burning Buenos Aires as a result of the atrocious social crisis of that year, but because of the strength of its writing and the remarkable way in which each of the four narrators who are building the novel show up the outbreak point of what we call “the real” carries in itself the intimate and tragic rupture of our subjectivity.
Alguna vez la crítica ha postulado series o modos de leer la literatura argentina a través de determinados ejes como, por ejemplo, la última dictadura, o la guerra de Malvinas; dentro de la hipotética serie de “las novelas del 2001”. El grito, primera novela de Florencia Abbate, fue la primera en aparecer y acaso ocupe un lugar central. No solo por las alusiones temporales a una Buenos Aires en llamas a causa de la atroz crisis social de ese año, sino por la fuerza de su escritura, por la notable forma en que cada uno de los cuatro narradores que van construyendo la novela muestran hasta qué punto el estallido de aquello que llamamos “lo real” lleva en sí también la ruptura íntima y trágica de nuestra subjetividad.

AUTHOR / AUTOR Osvaldo Aguirre studied letters at the National University of Rosario, and has worked for ten years as a police reporter. Later on he worked another ten years as editor of a cultural section. Between 2008 and 2012 he was curator of the Poetry International Festival of Rosario. In 2014 he created the festival of Crime Literature “La Chicago”, in Rosario. He currently lives in Buenos Aires, where he works as a journalist and editor. He collaborates in magazines such as Ñ, Acción, and in Perfil newspaper, among other mass media. Osvaldo Aguirre estudió Letras en la Universidad Nacional de Rosario, trabajó durante diez años como cronista policial y otros diez como editor de un suplemento cultural. Entre 2008 y 2012 fue curador del Festival Internacional de Poesía de Rosario. Creó en 2014 el festival de Literatura Policial La Chicago argentina, en Rosario. Actualmente vive en Buenos Aires, donde trabaja como periodista y editor. Colabora en las revistas Ñ y Acción, y en el diario Perfil, entre otros medios.

The French fugitives he help build a web dedicated to the transport of heroin to the United States. With this traffic also begins the myth that would reach the cinema (the classic Connection in France), in which the most credible lies coexist with the most unlikely truths of the 60s and 70s: an assault on the National Bank, flights from Paraguay, the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the political complicity. En 1947, un hombre buscado en Francia por su colaboración con los nazis desembarca en Buenos Aires. AUTHOR / AUTOR Javier Chiabrando is a writer and a musician. His work has been published in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, and Cuba. The novel Todavía no cumplí cincuenta y ya estoy muerto (I am not even Fifty and I am Already Dead) is regarded as his most famous work. He is also the author of Querer escribir, poder escribir (Wanting to Write, Being Able to Write), a book that analyses the writing process. He is in charge of literary workshops in cities from Argentina as well as in national and international book fairs such as the Azabache Festival of crime novel. He writes for the newspaper Rosario 12, for the Radar section (both belonging to Página/12 newspaper), and for the literary section of Telam news agency Es escritor y músico. Su obra ha sido publicada en Argentina, México, España, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia y Ecuador. La novela Todavía no cumplí cincuenta y ya estoy muerto es considerada su obra más famosa. Sus últimas novelas se enmarcan en el género novela negra, también escribió novelas infantiles y además es autor de Querer escribir, poder escribir, un libro que analiza el proceso de la escritura y condensa su intensa actividad como coordinador de talleres literarios en ciudades de Argentina, como así también en ferias nacionales e internacionales, como el Festival Azabache de novela negra. En este policial, el autor, Javier Chiabrando, reúne la ficción y la historia de una Argentina no muy lejana donde nazis como Eichmann vivieron tranquilamente hasta que un detalle, una casualidad, los arrastró al cadalso.
AUTHOR / AUTOR Martín Doria lives properly between two worlds: he is a medic and writer. He was born in the Colombian tropic, his family is from Argentina and he lives today in Buenos Aires. That circumstance has allowed him to publish alternatively in both countries, dealing with the popular language and the singularities of both places. He has received numerous prizes for his work, among them stands the First Mention in the IV International Congress of Medical Writers, the Second Prize of the National Contest Osvaldo Soriano Prize, the Manuel Zapata Olivella Novel Prize (Colombia), the Special Mention of the Black Novel Award of the Festival Azabache (Argentina), and was finalist of the National Short Fiction Prize of the Central University of Colombia. He has published short stories in various national and international anthologies. Its literature is framed in an intimate prose that runs through several genres from black novel to testimonial and political novel. In addition to literature, his interest lies in the cinema (he studied photography direction for film and screenplay) and comic strip (he worked as a screenwriter in a Buenos Aires magazine during the 1990s). Martín Doria vive y escribe propiamente entre dos mundos: es médico y escritor. Nació en el trópico colombiano, es de familia argentina y vive hoy en Buenos Aires. Eso le ha permitido publicar alternativamente en ambos países, transitando la lengua popular y las instancias de uno y otro lugar. AUTHOR / AUTOR Sergio Gaiteri is a writer and professor of Modern Letters at the National University of Córdoba. He lives in Valle Hermoso, in the mountainous area of Córdoba in Argentina. Author of short story books such as Los días del padre y otros relatos (2006, Ediciones del Boulevard) which obtained the National Fund of Arts Mention in 2005; Certificado de Convivencia y otros relatos (2007, Editorial Recovecos), National Fund of Arts Award in 2006. He also wrote the novels Nivel Medio (Raíz de Dos), First Mention in the Novel Competition Clarín-Alfaguara 2008; La Vertiente, (2014, Editorial Nudista); and in 2016, 10 years after the first edition, Ediciones Recovecos reissued Certificado de Convivencia. Gaiteri defines himself as a realist writer. He believes that a good story is one that leaves us with a feeling that can not be described in words. Sergio Gaiteri es escritor, docente y profesor de Letras Modernas en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. Vive en Valle Hermoso, en la zona serrana de la provincia de Córdoba. A divorced middle-aged man, who has been unemployed for a while, lives with a woman who asks him to draw a certificate of coexistence to expedite certain matters in relation to her work. The fears, the tensions and the doubts generated by a simple bureaucratic procedure serve as a framework for a series of situations in the life of a couple. As in this short story, the core of the other texts raises relationships of couples with diverse conflicts and disagreements. Un hombre divorciado de mediana edad, desocupado desde hace un tiempo, convive con una mujer, quien le pide que saque un certificado de convivencia para agilizar ciertos asuntos en relación al trabajo de ella. Los miedos, las tensiones, las dudas que genera un simple trámite burocrático sirven de marco para una serie de situaciones de la vida en pareja. Como en este relato, el núcleo de los demás textos plantea relaciones de parejas con diversos conflictos y desavenencias.
LA MOZA (The waitress)

A handful of more or less gray characters is enough for Sergio Gaiteri to tell a story, to tell us about something that could happen to any of us. Written in the first person, La Moza is a text where the narrator succumbs to a vain purpose: the understanding of an incomprehensible situation. And although he is fully conscious about this impossibility from the beginning, he nonetheless decides to inquire about his situation and that of his family. A Sergio Gaiteri le basta con un puñado de personajes más o menos grises para contar una historia sugestiva, para hablarnos de algo que podría pasarnos a cualquiera de nosotros sin que, por incapacidad o distracción, lleguemos a percibir su valor literario. Escrita en primera persona, La moza es un texto en el que el narrador se entrega a un propósito vano: entender una situación incomprensible. Y aunque desde el comienzo es plenamente consciente de esta imposibilidad, aun así decide indagar sobre su situación y la de su familia.
AUTHOR / AUTOR Rosa Clementina Quenel was born in Santiago del Estero in the beginning of the 20th century, in a society with a high rate of illiteracy and in which letters were restricted to men. Her literary activity initiated in Buenos Aires as storyteller in magazines of the 1920s. In the 1930s she joined the cultural group “La Brasa” together with Bernardo Canal Feijoo and Horacio Rava. Clementina’s stories showed the hidden side of rural Santiago by portraying the life of invisible women living in the deep inland areas. It was a journey to the interior of her province that encouraged her new interests and inspired the production that consecrated as writer. It is in this context that she developed her literature: this is the atmosphere from which her characters and stories emerge. Clementina Rosa Quenel nació y habitó el Santiago del Estero de principios de siglo XX, una sociedad con un alto índice de analfabetismo y en la que las letras estaban reservadas para los hombres. Su actividad literaria se inició en Buenos Aires como cuentista de revistas de los años 20. En los años 30 se incorporó al grupo cultural “La Brasa” junto a Bernardo Canal Feijoo y Horacio Rava. Las historias de Clementina mostraron el lado oculto del Santiago rural, retratando la vida de las mujeres invisibles de tierra adentro. Un viaje al interior de su provincia despertó nuevos intereses y motivó la producción que la consagró como escritora. If we should mention in a few words which were the worlds of Clementina, I would basically point out four: the geography and the devastation of wild forest; the lexical and onomatopoeic recovery of their locals, solitary and isolated beings; the feelings, and in particular, love as a central issue; the female condition. In all of them, of course, the pain and frustration before destiny which is always unbeatable and invariable. Maybe for that reason, Quenel’s stories may become rather rough as they are read in these times of high-speed and swiftness. She was the kind of writer who stopped at details and worked, let’s say, engraving her own pauses. I hope this publishing effort serves to recognize -late, though- one of the most outstanding writers of the XX century in Argentina. Mempo Giardinelli. Si hay que decir en pocas palabras cuáles fueron los mundos de Clementina, pues básicamente señalo cuatro: la geografía y el arrasamiento del monte; la recuperación lexical y onomatopéyica de sus habitantes, seres solitarios y aislados; los sentimientos y en particular el amor como tema central; la condición femenina. Y en todos, claro, el dolor y la frustración ante un destino que siempre es imbatible, inmodificable. Los relatos de Quenel, y acaso por eso mismo, leídos en estos tiempos de vértigos y ligerezas pueden resultar algo ripiosos. Y es que ella fue la clase de escritora que se detiene en detalles y trabaja, se diría, burilando sus propias morosidades. Ojalá este esfuerzo editorial sirva para consagrar, aunque a destiempo, a una de las más notables escritoras de la Argentina del siglo XX. Mempo Giardinelli.
AUTHOR / AUTOR Andrea Rabih was born in Buenos Aires in 1967. She studied literature at the University of Buenos Aires, where she also worked as Spanish professor for foreign students. In 1991, her short stories “La diferencia” and “Claramente dormida” won the first prize at the Young Art Biennale, and in 1994, “El polaquito” was awarded with the first prize at the Short Story Contest Eva Perón. She published Cera negra (Simurg, 2000), by which she was portrayed by criticism as an exceptional narrator. She died early in 2001 of a melanoma. In spite of her short career, she became in one of the most important writers of her generation. Andrea Rabih nació en Buenos Aires y estudió Letras, luego de un fallido paso por Medicina. Sus cuentos “La diferencia” y “Claramente dormida” obtuvieron el Primer Premio en la Bienal de Arte Joven y “El polaquito” en el Concurso de Cuento Eva Perón. En el año 2000 la editorial Simurg publicó Cera negra, que la crítica saludó como el nacimiento de una narradora excepcional. Murió tempranamente en 2001, a causa de un melanoma. A pesar de su corta trayectoria logró destacarse entre los escritores de su generación. There is not a single line in them that should be excused in the name of physical pain, grief, fear or urgency. It challenges us to find in these texts a single trait of self-compassion or indulgence. I think that the ideal reader of these stories should be as fierce as her. It's the least she deserves. AUTHOR / AUTOR Andrés Rivera -Marcos Ribak in the papers- was a prolific Argentine writer and journalist. Son of immigrant workers, he was born in the neighborhood of Villa Crespo. He worked from a very young age as a silk weaver, participated in the Argentine labor movement and worked for the Communist Party as his father did. He began writing in the late 1950s. His readings, his preoccupations, his reflection and political commitment, and his constancy in the work, led him to produce 30 works; something he would characterise as "excessive". He wrote in the magazine Plática (1953-1957), and made his debut in fiction with the novel El precio (1956), whose writing was very close to the aesthetics of social realism as well as his following novel Los que no Mueren, and three storybooks, Sol de Sábado, Cita and El yugo y la marcha. In 1964 Rivera was expelled from the Communist Party and his vision of the world underwent a transformation. From there, his literature will not be detached from politics at all. Using his pen to go straight to the bone of the story, Rivera wrote essential works for contemporary Argentine literature: Una lectura de la historia (1982), El verdugo en el umbral (1994), La revolución es un sueño eterno (1987), El Farmer (1996), among others. Andrés Rivera -Marcos Ribak en los papeles- fue un prolífico escritor y periodista argentino. Hijo de inmigrantes obreros, nació en el barrio porteño de Villa Crespo. Trabajó desde muy joven como tejedor de seda, participó en el movimiento obrero argentino y, como su padre, militó en el Partido Comunista. Comenzó a escribir hacia finales de los ‘50. Sus lecturas, sus preocupaciones, su reflexión y compromiso político, y su constancia en el trabajo, generaron una obra de 30 títulos; en sus propias palabras, “excesiva”. Escribió en la revista Plática (1953-1957) y debutó en la ficción con la novela El precio (1956), muy cercana a la estética del realismo social, al igual que la siguiente, Los que no mueren, y tres libros de cuentos, Sol de sábado, Cita y El yugo y la marcha. En 1964 Rivera fue expulsado del Partido Comunista y su visión del mundo experimentó una transformación. A partir de allí, su literatura no se desprenderá en absoluto de la política. AUTHOR / AUTOR Adrián Savino is a writer and teacher, graduate in Social Communication and an avid reader. He writes every day through the siesta in the studio, very close to his library that has a strange charm: survived a fire. He is an amateur collector of urban images: murals, graffiti, posters, offers and gardens which have been captured on his daily routes. He was born in Córdoba in 1971. He works as a middle level teacher and has published several books, such as: Canciones de Sed -poem book- (Alción, 1999), the novel Crónica de un rocho (Alción, 2003), and Viaje de Omar (Nudista, 2016); also the nouvelles Soja en las banquinas (Eduvim, 2012). He participated in the anthologies of stories Carne (La Creciente, 2006) and 10 Bajistas (Eduvim, 2009), and in the book Diorama. At the same way he published essays on contemporary cinema from Córdoba (Caballo Negro, 2013). He published stories, chronicles and reviews in graphic and online media. AUTHOR / AUTOR Antonio Tello is author of short stories, poetry, novels, erotic fiction, essays and biographies. He worked in different newspapers, magazines, and radio stations in Argentina and in Spain. He dedicated to print and radio journalism in Río Cuarto, where he lives nowadays. He also explored theatre as a teacher, playwright and member of a company. Besides, he took part in the foundation of the magazines Cine-Síntesis and Puente. His cultural, union and student activism brought political power against him, which forced him to exile in 1975. He settled in Barcelona, where he returned to journalism and developed almost his entire narrative, poetry and essay writing. His work has been considered as one of the most relevant of Argentine literature in exile. The main part of his work, especially the children and youngadults fiction, has been translated into more than twenty languages in the world, including Greek, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Thai, Indian, Albanian, etc., apart from the main European languages. Antonio Tello es autor de cuentos, poesías, novelas, cuentos eróticos, ensayos y biografías. Trabajó en diversos periódicos, revistas y emisoras de radio, tanto en Argentina como en España. Dedicado al periodismo escrito y radiofónico en Río Cuarto, donde reside actualmente, también incursionó en el teatro como profesor, autor e integrante de un grupo de agitación teatral. Asimismo, fue partícipe de las fundaciones de las revistas Cine-Síntesis y Puente. Su activismo cultural, sindical y estudiantil lo enfrentó al poder político, lo cual lo llevó al exilio en 1975.
