Jeremy with his brothers John John, Jacob William & sister Giulliana Marilia There are some experiences in life that we pray we will never have to endure or witness. The loss of a child is without a doubt the most horrific and incomprehensible. Jeremy Seth Haruvi was buried on January 3th, 2013 after a beautiful service officiated by Rabbi Moshe Scheiner at The Star of David Chapel in West Palm Beach. Jeremy was an extraordinary young man who experienced loss and illness from a very young age. His mother Suzanne passed away when he was only 11 years old and his father, Abe Haruvi, raised him alone. Father and son were extremely close and shared an exceptional bond. Jeremy was an incredibly bright student who attended the exclusive and highly competitive Stuyvesant High School in New York City and then went on to Stony Brook University. He planned to further his education this year by studying neurobiological research. He is remembered by everyone who knew him, as a very kind person with a great heart and a contagious laugh. He adored his family

and took great joy in spending time with his brothers and sister. During the service, his immediate family shared intimate stories that portrayed how remarkable he was, even as a child. The depth and intensity of Jeremy’s family’s emotions when they spoke of him was extremely moving. This young man deeply inspired and touched the lives of everyone around him. Jeremy’s paternal grandfather, Herman, a publisher, shared that Jeremy was a voracious reader and that he always had a book in his hand. He also said that Jeremy had just started writing a novel. His cousin Elaine spoke of how he wanted the same things that everyone else wants - a loving relationship and a family of his own. JohnJohn, his stepbrother said that Jeremy was his brother. Giovanna, Jeremy’s stepmother shared how she loved him as a son and that he called her MOM.

“Dear God, I humbly accept all that you have done for me and my family with love and reverence. I know that you will take good care of him. That Jeremy shall no longer feel any worldly pain, and that he is with love, with his mom, Suzanne, his grandmother and grandfather. As life never stops moving forward, dropping the leaves off the tree, I find solace that one day we will all be together again, in peace and in love.” Jeremy Seth Haruvi lost his life long battle with diabetes on December 31, 2012, but he will live forever in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to have crossed his path. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Palm Beach Synagogue and the Chabad of Southampton, New York.

His father Abe gave a passionate and moving speech directed to God. Page 17
