The Palais

The Palais Auersperg was built between 1706 and 1710 according to the plans by the famous baroque architects Johann B. Fischer von Erlach and Lukas von Hildebrandt.

Since then it has been one of the main points of European music, politics and society history. Its grandeur and spaciousness make the gorgeous baroque Palais Auersperg a popular location and a unique setting for congresses, meetings and incentives for 10 to 1000 persons.

The Vestibule

The Rosenkavalierhall

This hall is the heart of the palace. With the opera „Der Rosenkavalier“ Hugo von Hofmann and Richard Strauss left a literary and musical monument to the Palais Auersperg.

The Idomeneo Hall

In 1786 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart staged his opera „Idomeneo“ in the Palais Auersperg for the first time. In this red marbled room gave the six-year-old Mozart his famous kiss on Maria Theresa`s cheek. cocktail

The Loggia

Even this small room embroiders with its excellency. The palace has served as residence for the Swedish court in exile fourten years. During the Second World War the Palace of Auersperg played an important role: the Austrian resistance movement O5 was headquartered here. cocktail

The Library

The Old Restaurant

Situated in the southern part of the Palais Auersperg The Old Restaurant is characterized by its romantic wall paintings. This wing of the palace can be reached from there by stairs, which allows this part to be used independent from the central part.

The Park

The palace garden, covering 6,000 m², adds to the variety of options that the Palace of Auersperg has to offer. The garden, which is surrounded by buildings and can only be accessed via the palace, is a green, idyllic oasis in the middle of the city. It is an ideal place to relax during the breaks of any kind of event, to drink an aperitif in a quiet atmosphere or to pass on the story of Shakespeare`s midsummer night`s dream.
