61st IBSC Annual Meeting

CHATEAU ELAN | BRASELTON, GEORGIA |

JULY 24-26, 2025

from the 2025 IBSC President Welcome

Welcome, everyone, to our 2025 IBSC Annual Convention at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort. Every year we gather as friends and community bankers to promote and celebrate our continued successes. We learn from and converse with one another, so that the community banking space in our great state continues to thrive and expand. I realize that making a presence at IBSC events sometimes requires you to be away from your organization and your families, but we remain humbled by your attendance and steadfast commitment.

Naturally, the annual convention does not simply “happen”, and I would like to give special thanks to our convention committee, Chairman Nakia Davis (Brooke), Jim Bennett (Annette), Jamie Bunton (Jenny), Brent Garrett (Jamie), and Stacey McGinnis (Nancy) for their role in planning and preparing another memorable event. Ya’ll are the best!

And there simply are no words to express my appreciation to Teresa Taylor and April Folger for all their work, in front of and behind the scenes. These two gems work faithfully to see that our needs and priorities are fulfilled, and that the state of South Carolina stands out as a community banking leader, both locally and nationally. The assistance that they have provided me this past year cannot be quantified. Both of you are treasured!

Now that you are here, please take the time to visit our convention exhibit hall! IBSC vendors and exhibitors provide the necessary resources so that our banks can operate efficiently and profitably. Their booths will remain open throughout the event, so you’ll have plenty of time to mingle.

Also, I extend an abundance of gratitude to our IBSC annual convention sponsors! We exceeded our convention sponsorship goal this year and that is 100% because of YOU and your enthusiasm for community banking!

Finally, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your President. It has been my honor to represent you this year and I certainly want to express my appreciation to the IBSC board who have worked alongside me. We are fortunate to have many fine community bankers serving the association and your efforts are substantial!

Dana and I hope that your time at Chateau Elan this weekend will create valuable insights, new and dynamic connections and inspire a renewed sense of purpose.

Enjoy and Cheers!
