Banned INGO ‘STC’ continues to challenge govt writ ZEESHAN JAVAID ISLAMABAD—Under the nose of civil administration, as US based an influential but controversial international development organization, Save the Children (STC) continues to defy the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and civilmilitary leadership by working in prohibited areas of the country including FATA, KPK and Balochistan through its proxies under the guise of a fake nutrition program. Despite hot words and string actions from Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar and continued expression of com-
mitment from top civil and military leadership of the country for implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), STC to counter the government policies has formed a giant force of more than 102 Civil Society Organizations indirectly to meet its hidden targets. This mega development was unearthed during a thorough study of STC’s activities in Pakistan particularly after the closure of organization secretariat not only in Islamabad but hundreds of its field offices across the different part of the country including the war-torn areas including FATA, KPK and Balochistan, where the LEAs and Pakistan Armed
Forces in joint efforts continued their assignment of clean-up militancy and terrorism from the country. Save the Children Offices were closed in Islamabad on June 11 under the orders of federal interior ministry for its alleged involvement in some suspicious activities. List of charges against Save the Children, as shared by ministry sources included their unauthorized operations in sensitive areas like FATA, Baluchistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without obtaining any no-objection certificate. Same organization was also implicated in working as American CIA front organi-
