Tribunal for hearing appeals against Sharifs changed ISLAMABAD—Election Commission has changed the tribunal for hearing the appeals against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif. According to the notification issued on Sunday, the appeals against them have been transferred to the new tribunal comprising of Justice Nasir Saeed Shaikh and Justice Shahid Wahid. Four appeals were filed against acceptance of nomination papers of Mian Nawaz Sharif from NA-120 Lahore. Similarly, four appeals were filed against acceptance of candidature of Mian Shahbaz

Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday denotified eleven former parliamentarians for having fake degrees. Five former lawmakers from Punjab assembly, two from Sindh assembly, one from Balochistan assembly and three from Senate have been disqualified by the commission. Fake degree holders included former Senators Israrullah Khan Zehri, Rehana Yahya Baloch, Mohabbat Khan Mari and former provincial lawmakers included Samina Khawar Hayat, Seemal Kamran, Shumaila Rana, Shahina Khan, Rana Ijaz Ahmed Noon, Bashir Ahmed Khan, Nawabzada Tariq Magsi and Mir Nadir Magsi. The commission also directed these disqualified lawmakers to return all amenities

Major terror bid foiled after heavy gunfire Car-load of explosives seized KARACHI—The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of police in Karachi conducted an operation in Surjani town area on Saturday/Sunday night and thwarted the possibility of a major terrorist attack.
