A taste of Paisley at home
After the separations of the last couple years, we are all ready to make the most of time with our friends and family and make up for all those missed special occasions.
There are plenty of great venues in the town centre to help you celebrate, but if you are going all out and inviting everyone you know, we have some amazing hospitality businesses who also offer catering for you to enjoy any time, any place, anywhere.

Cloud 9 Deli Scott McGinlay Catering Tastebuds

CLOUD 9 DELI
9 Gauze Street, Paisley
Patricia Dickson is the proud owner of Cloud 9 Deli after taking over this Gauze Street takeaway three years ago. “My goal has always been to have a good takeaway cafe that served nice fresh food and I just loved the location,” said Patricia. “My background has always been food, I studied professional cookery for four years so anything food related is my passion and I hope to reflect that in the food we sell. “I made the decision to start offering catering during lockdown as we lost so much of our custom due to the pandemic as most of our customers were office based.” “We have catered for weddings, funerals, all kind of parties and large events,” added Patricia. “We have even had a request for just a full tray of cucumber wraps, nothing else on them. “I always try to be a bit different in terms of style and packaging I use and I try to always make the food the most attractive it can be as I am a big believer that people eat with their eyes first.” Patricia has definitely seen an increase in people looking to celebrate special events and family occasions in style. “I would like my business to be known as the shop that goes above and beyond to cater for people’s food needs,” she said. “It’s been a real pleasure these last three years getting to know all of our loyal customers and new ones, so here’s to many more years!”

SCOTT McGINLAY CATERING
47 Causeyside Street, Paisley
For the young entrepreneur behind Scott McGinlay Catering, it was certainly a case of following in his father’s footsteps. “Food is definitely in the family,” said Scott, who opened the town centre shop bearing his name towards the end of 2020. “I started out working after school in my dad’s butchers’ shop in Well Street when I was just 13 years old and haven’t looked back since.”
As well as his deli on Causeyside Street, Scott also opened The Butcher’s Deli and Bakery on Bridge Street and two other locations within Paisley. “My plan has always been to have a deli and offer catering too,” explained Scott. “I could have taken on a big industrial unit but I wanted to have a number of smaller shops to be able to create more jobs, and I wanted to be customer facing. “I am always getting involved in good causes within the community and I sponsor a number of bowling clubs. I am always looking to give back and I get that from my dad Graeme as well. “That said I couldn’t have done any of this without the support of my mum Evelyn too, the support from both of them has been amazing.” Scott has a number of corporate clients including the NHS, Renfrewshire Council and Logan Airlines but also caters for family occasions including birthdays, communions and funerals offering everything from party food to three course sit down meals. He is also now catering for weddings at the town’s own Coats Venue.
“There’s definitely been a pandemic backlog,” added Scott. “Lots of special occasions being celebrated one year later, so plenty of 30, 40 and 50 - plus 1 - parties! “So it’s great to help people create special memories as they make up for lost time, the support from the people of Paisley has been amazing from day one. “I was recently serving at a funeral and there was a guest who wanted to book me for another funeral,” smiled Scott. “When I asked for the date she said, I don’t know, I am not dead yet! She enjoyed the food so much; she was trying to book me for her own funeral. “As long as people know us for quality food, value for money and great customer service then I will be happy, we are always ready to go the extra mile to make your special occasion perfect.”
TASTEBUDS PAISLEY
22b Lawn Street, Paisley
It’s a real family affair at TasteBuds Paisley in Lawn Street too. Sisters Elaine and Susie have owned TasteBuds for almost 5 years along with best friend Tracey. “There’s been a café here in our location for as long as we can remember,” tells Elaine. “I remember visiting it with my Nana on our trips to Arnotts! “Since we were at university in Aberdeen together, we had always planned to open a cafe and as Susie and myself were from Paisley, we thought it would be great to be part of the town as the area is transformed. “The shop had offered outside catering under the previous owners, however with our experience in event catering, this was one of the aspects of the business that attracted us to TasteBuds Paisley when we were looking to purchase a local business.” “We cater for all budgets and requirements,” added Elaine. “We have worked with Renfrewshire Council on their town centre events and also cater for weddings, christenings and communions, birthday parties, garden parties, baby showers, funeral teas. “We offer cold and hot buffet options, individual lunch boxes, handmade celebration cakes.

“We also have our Buddie Boxes which include Afternoon Tea, Ploughman’s and Antipasti which are very popular - especially when the sun is shining. The ladies at TasteBuds pride themselves on offering wholesome, home cooked food that suits all budgets. “We take great pride in our multi award winning customer service and working closely with local community groups to support them and give back to the community,” said Elaine. “We recently received a message from a customer in New York wanting to surprise her family in Paisley and arrange for some food to be delivered to their home. We also have a customer in Australia who contacts us for every family birthday, anniversary and Mother’s Day to arrange afternoon tea deliveries.....so you could say we are a global business!”
