This year, a mother and her two children foundasenseofbelongingandpurposeat Painted Sky Center for the Arts after relocating to Grant County to escape violence in Portland Initially struggling with isolation especially the family’s 15-yearold deaf daughter they connected with our center through a request to teach jewelry. That simple outreach blossomed into deep community ties, with the daughter now teaching a popular sign language class and serving as our Volunteer Building Organization Coordinator. Her younger brother assists with marketing, and their mother leads our after-school program Their journey is a powerful testament to the life-changing impactofart, inclusion, andcommunity
