The letter described exactly the same words as were used originally given by a slave owner, where he told other slave masters that he had discovered the “secret” to control the black slaves by setting them one against another. He told in the letter that he had outlined several differences amongst the slaves. He took the differences and made them bigger. He used fear, distrust, and envy to control the purposes. He also added that the methods he applied had worked on his modest plantation in the West Indies and it would work throughout the world.
