of the most passenger-friendly airports in the nation. A short drive from downtown Charleston and just a few minutes from the intersection of three major interstates, CRW is a breeze to get to. CRW is located in Charleston but services Huntington and southern West Virginia.
West Virginia is now home to The New River Gorge National Park. Ranieri’s role and responsibilities include the day-to-day oversight of the Airport’s Executive Leadership Team and West Virginia International Yeager Airport. She oversees a staff of over 100, a $13.7 million budget for fiscal year 2022, and daily operations of the largest commercial Airport in the state of West Virginia that generated a 225 million economic impact in the state pre-COVID-19. She has worked at CRW since 2017, starting as the Airport’s Marketing Director and working her way up to the CEO role. Her hard work has led to many additions (and schedule adjustments) to service at CRW Airport—notably, service from CRW to Orlando International Airport (MCO) on low-cost carrier, Spirit Airlines. Before being named CEO, Ranieri served as Assistant Airport Director for nearly two years. Her appointment to her current position was made official in September 2022. She is the first woman to lead West Virginia International Yeager Airport.
West Virginia International Yeager Airport serves the state of West Virginia and surrounding areas with a catchment area of nearly 600,000 residents within 60 miles of CRW. Statewide visitation is at an all-time high, already outpacing pre-pandemic traveler spending levels and continuing to grow.
CRW is the gateway to the world and West Virgina has become a thriving tourist destination, with one of the fastest growing tourism economies with nearly $5 billion coming in annually in traveler spending.
With direct flights to major hubs, you can easily connect anywhere in the world by flying CRW. You can help build additional air service for your community by telling your favorite airline that your preferred airline is CRW and most importantly, using the existing service provided.

This project will consolidate all rental car facilities into one location. Adjacent to the parking garage, the Quick Turn Around Facility will be constructed on the site of the existing maintenance building. This location will add a layer of convenience for travelers, allowing them to pick up their vehicle as they exit the Airport.
With the Quick Turn Around Facility moving into the current maintenance location, there is opportunity for a new and improved maintenance operation. Consolidating airport maintenance, police, operations, and the Airport Response Coordination Center into a single location. This new facility will serve as the Maintenance and Public Safety Building, streamlining operations for the Airport.
Additionally, relocating the maintenance building will free up four acres of property for future hotel development.
To satisfy immediate and long-term needs of the Airport the Central West Virginia Airport Authority is proposing construction of various airfield, safety, and terminal improvements. ww
After decades of serving West Virginia and beyond, West Virginia International Yeager Airport is eyeing a new terminal. which would support and accommodate CRW’s future growth. A new terminal would also bring new opportunities and potentially new services to CRW.
West Virginia International Yeager Airport is proposing to construct various airfield, safety, and terminal improvements. To separately satisfy immediate (near-term) needs and long-term needs of the Airport.
The proposed improvements would be developed in phases. In the near-term (Phase 1), the CWVRAA proposes to shift and extend Runway 5-23 to the northeast (Runway 23 end) to allow for a Runway Safety Area (RSA) that meets FAA standards on both ends of the runway and
to meet existing and forecast future runway needs of 7,000 feet. The CWVRAA also seeks to construct a new terminal complex that would provide modern amenities allowing for a better passenger experience and address terminal area inefficiencies that include an aging
and and poorly configured terminal facility. Additionally, CWVRAA seeks to relocate taxiways adjacent to the terminal area that are not consistent with FAA design standards. For long-term needs (Phase 2), the CWVRAA proposes a further shift and extension of Runway
