The DVD is a fascinating journey in the Flatpicking technique as viewed from the broad perspective of Italian guitarist Beppe Gambetta. Beppe will explain the multifaceted aspects of the technique, moving from the most traditional approaches like the Carter Style to the explanation of more complex forms like the Crosspicking “down-down-up” technique. The beginning of the journey will be dedicated to the technical preparation with finger gymnastic and exercises and Beppe will also introduce you to the basic movements of the accompaniment and back-up. The musical examples are arrangements of traditional standards as well as original tunes. The DVD is completed with an introduction to improvisation with some typical licks of the style. The level goes from simple to medium difficulty.

Beppe Gambetta After being fascinated by the music of the great American acoustic guitar masters Beppe began a prolific career based on his “life on the road”, devoted to travel, meet and learn from artist of other cultures, as well as researching, reviving and teaching old forgotten music from the past. He performed all over North America and Europe, but also in Australia and Argentina, produced several CDs, instructional books and DVDs. Through all of these experiences, Beppe was able to create his new peculiar guitar style, a poetic synthesis that reflects his work on the roots music of both sides of the Ocean.
