The design concept for this project is étroit, which is the French word for intimate. The objective of this design is to serve as an application restaurant for the Culinary Arts students of Enderun Colleges and also to promote the high-quality experience of French fine dining.

Large arched windows are incorporated adjacent to the left-side entrance of the restaurant for natural light to transmit into the interior setting. French doors are also used because of their glass material but keeping a portion hidden, such as the doors of the function room, so that private events remain intimate. The continuity of these curved fenestrations is further emulated in the ceiling moldings. This reduces the floor-to-ceiling height, as opposed to the intimidating high ceilings of the bistro lobby.

As the exterior of the Culinary Arts building is a rough red brick finish, materials for the interior of the restaurant are soft green wood planks to contrast. This provides an instant visual queue for the users of the space, inviting them to rest and relax. The materials are chosen and considered for their earth tones—invoking a sense of warmth attuned to nature.
