Cobot lifts 16kg The UR16e cobot from Universal Robots (Booth US-7279) makes its U.S. debut, offering the highest payload and best pose repeatability in its reach class. Suitable for applications such as case packing and palletizing, the cobot combines a 16kg payload capacity with a reach of 900mm and pose repeatability of +/- 0.05mm. SD

he annual PACK gives BACK™ event added another success to its multi-year tradition last night as the audience enjoyed listening to hits from the Steve Miller Band. A portion of the proceeds from the networking reception/concert will go to NS2 Serves®, a non-profit dedicated to helping recent U.S. military veterans transition civilian careers. This charitable group provides valuable information technology training and employment assistance at no cost to veterans. Robotics Zone launches

T

he interactive Robotics Zone (Booth N-850) demonstrates the latest technologies for packaging applications. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a cell that picks random products and places them in a pouch destined for Blessings in a Backpack, an organization that provides school children with food for the weekend. Other highlights include the Future Innovators Robotics Showcase featuring the creations of local high school teams, the latest in gripper technology and a wearable exoskeleton that provides assistance with product handling and other tasks.
