Pacific Wellness (PacWell) University of the Pacific is committed to the whole person wellness of our Pacific family. PacWell encompasses the 8 dimensions of wellness, all of which are interconnected. These dimensions are emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual. Wellness is an active process through which people become aware of and make choices for overall wholeness, happiness, and well-being. Look for these logos around campus as they identify where each dimension is represented at Pacific.

JOIN THE CREW! PACIFIC STROKES

PACIFIC CREW

Strokes participants play teambuilding games, learn about collaboration and leadership themes, and experience the oldest collegiate sport in the United States in a safe, inclusive, and rewarding environment. This program is also a great way to meet new friends as our expert Student Rowing instructors teach you to “row as one”. For those who may want to represent the University on our competitive Crew, but need special help developing core strength, base fitness, and learning proper diet info for both winning and success in the classroom, Strokes is perfect for you.

Worried about managing student athlete priorities well? Pacific Crew athletes had a 3.34 GPA last season, one of the highest student group GPA’s on campus. Try-outs are conducted in September and in January, with limited spots available. A free 2 week period is included for coaches and athletes to discuss whether Pacific Crew is a good fit, so come see if you can count yourself among the elite!

Pacific Strokes is a new non-competitive rowing program that was created for Pacific students who want to row and train for fitness and fun, but who simply don’t have the time to train competitively or have difficulty beginning their training day at 5 am. Pacific Strokes currently meets 3 days a week; Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 6-8 pm, and Saturday mornings. Attendance is not mandatory, and participants may come as often or as little as their schedules allow.

Pacific Crew is our University’s competitive Rowing program, and no previous experience is necessary. Pacific Crew travels to Southern California in the fall to compete at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival, and in the spring races in Sacramento at WIRA Championships. Tiger Rowers train on some of the best water in the West Coast, the Deep Water Channel, just 5 minutes from campus. Past Tiger Rowers have medaled at the regional and national level.

We would love to speak with you personally! Please check us out at www.tigerrowing.org and contact the appropriate instructor for more info or to sign up.
