Hi, I’m Monica Frederick, Interim Executive Director at Pablo Center. Over the past five years, I have been devoted to our mission - to build a stronger community and a more enlightened world through the art, education, and entertainment offered at Pablo Center. I grew up in Los Angeles and opportunities to get out of my neighborhood didn’t happen very often.I remember wondering, “is there more out there?”. So I was thrilled when my 5th grade class got to visit the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. This was not a usual occurrence …we were so happy. We got all dressed up and took a bus ride 30 minutes away - I had no idea what I would be introduced to that day but I was excited!
The musicians and conductor entered the space and welcomed us to the show. I had never been to a performance like that before and I had no idea what to expect. They began to play, and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. The musicians were so in love with their craft. It was incredible! And they were playing just for us. We felt so special. It didn’t matter to them who we were or where we came from. We all belonged.
That field trip showed me the power of the performing arts - to be transformed, to feel connected, and to be inspired. My dream is for everyone in our community is to feel the way I did on that field trip. With your help, Pablo Center can be a place where everyone belongs.
You can provide life-changing experiences right now with a gift to our Annual Fund Drive. Together we can make Pablo Center the place we all need- a place to feel inspired, a place to create, a place to belong.
There is magic that happens at Pablo Center…the beauty of being fully immersed in a show, a child’s pride when they build a robot, an artist honoring motherhood with a 20-foot sculpture of a wooden dove... Will you give to this year’s Annual Fund Drive to help our community experience the magic and belonging that happens at Pablo Center?
Thank you for believing in the power of the arts!
Monica Frederick Interim Executive Director

• Identify and address implicit biases and practices throughout the organizational structures of Pablo Center.
• Respond to the events of our time that test relationships within the community through dialogue, educational and artistic programming, and care.
Our first act towards this pledge is the creation of the Committee for Inclusive and Just Engagement and Practices, which is dedicated to the resolution of issues and the creation of opportunities related to social justice.
