5 POUND APPAREL PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES MEALS TO AREA FAMILIES Five Pound Apparel began a new partnership with Ozarks Food Harvest this year. For every T-shirt sold, the local retailer will provide a donation for Ozarks Food Harvest to purchase five pounds of food. To date, over 1,325 shirts have been sold, equating to 6,625 pounds of food that OFH provided to children, families and seniors in the Ozarks. This is not the first time the local retailer has raised funds for The Food Bank, but this new initiative will provide yearround support for those in need. Bryan Simpson, owner of 5 Pound Apparel, said, “This partnership is an opportunity for us to create real impact locally while fulfilling our mission of giving back to those in need, all while supporting the life-changing work that Ozarks Food Harvest does every day.” Five Pound Apparel was founded in 2010 with the goal of providing support to nonprofits locally and globally. The store has locations in Downtown Springfield and the new Farmers Park development. “We’re grateful to count 5 Pound Apparel as a sustaining partner. Just like Ozarks Food Harvest, it has the mission of bettering the community it serves,” said Denise Gibson, OFH’s director of Development and Communication. “People will love this new way to support a great local business, while helping their neighbors in need.” Five Pound Apparel T-shirts can be purchased at brick and mortar locations in Springfield, or online at www.5poundapparel.com.

ROTARY CLUBS FEED THE OZARKS Volunteer day helps provide more than 32,000 meals Springfield Rotary clubs hosted a Rotary Feeds the Ozarks volunteer day at Ozarks Food Harvest on June 27. Eighty-eight volunteers sorted nearly 19,000 pounds of food and assembled 591 senior food boxes. Together, this will provide 32,374 meals for children, families and seniors in the Ozarks. “Rotary is an important partner to Ozarks Food Harvest,” said Bart Brown, President/ CEO of The Food Bank. “Over the years, Rotary clubs have purchased three Mobile Food Pantry trucks for The Food Bank, as well as provided thousands of volunteer hours. It was amazing to see the Rotary clubs unite through service as an example of their motto of ‘service above self.’” The Rotary clubs are also supporting Ozarks Food Harvest through the first-ever NorthSouth Food Fight competition through the end of July. The goal is for each regional Rotary to accumulate points by volunteering and donating money or food to The Food Bank or other organizations that provide food for hungry Missourians.
